Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

That log is rotten. What you need is "driftwood". I wish you lived nearby as I am surrounded by 3 rivers...the Mississippi River, the Amite River and the Comite River. I could probably find you a piece of drift wood that would span that entire tank. It's just how to then get it to you that would be the problem.

Some fish aquarium supply places or even a garden nursery place may sell driftwood.

Okay so I went look on the "googly" for driftwood for sale around Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Oh My Wow GIF

That shit is like gold!

Holy shit....I could make a fortune selling driftwood apparently for what they are asking for it online!

This piece of the log looks like it would be great for a tank. I wonder if you could completely hollow it out without totally destroying it. Fish would then be able to swim through it or hide in it. Fish love structure....every fisherman knows this.

Fun fact. Didjaknow Nebraska has more miles of rivers than any other state in the nation.

Gwinnutia. It’s this whole other county.

You'd watch him build things, you mean.
Maybe, probably not, because Slink used to be interested in mechanical drawing and he could draw up some plans and from that a cut list can be made and then it's game on. He also has expressed interest in being able to build. He would be a great helper, no doubt about it!

We’d build awesome things!
How about wall to wall book case set on wall to wall base cabinets? Built in of course. That's my next project anyway. So the one we build for you would be practice for me and then I'd go home and make a better one! (rotten snicker!)

I know! Mobility is a big thing for me to deal with. And that's why I want to get some new friends in real life, to take me places!

That piece actually is hollow. Not surprisingly a piece broke off during handling. Here is a pic of that piece in my tank, it will get moved again, nothing is set in place yet.

It's knot drift wood.jpg

And this is what broke off of it.
light as a potato chip.jpg

Let's see, I been busy these past few days but it has been slow going. Here's a bunch more pics with words.
Lilly pad tubers.jpgThese are the Lilly pad rhizomes or tubers and I'm very pleased with the condition they are in. They are about 4 inches long, about as big around as my thumb. These things can't wait to grow. All four have already sprouted leaves.

Four ant bites, itchy!.jpgI got three ant bites on my forearm and one bite on the inside of my upper arm. CRIPES! So itchy! And after a few hours they turned red and hot. These ants were on that big piece of faux 'driftwood' and I missed a few when I hosed it off...

floating plants.jpgThis is a variety of six different floating plants but they aren't in the big tank yet.

A couple more:

six pots.jpgThese are the pots that will be placed in the tank soon. I need to top the pots off with sand to keep things neat and tidy.

sifting soil.jpgThis was my set-up to sift some garden soil for the plants.

So happy!.jpgI decided to grow my goldfish up so that when I get the Alpha Predators, the goldfish will be big to eat!

Okay Kind Friends, have a great weekend!

You do know plants can live in sand and gravel so long as they receive nutrients and water there right? You don't have to use dirt

Douchebag that speaks condescendingly, toward a crippled man that overcomes his adversity, and has a passion for aquatic life says what?
