Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

Starting to look like something now.

You need to treat, or sanitize that log before floating it in there? You going to weight it, or you think it will sink?
Well hell, I was just planning on rinsing the dirt off and hope for the best. It will need to be weighted down but as far as treating or sanitizing it, I should look into that for sure. I look shit up on the internet, I don't 'RESEARCH' a gall dang thing!

So many ordinary or even less type of people, they look shit up on the net JUST LIKE ME, and they say they did 'research'... BULLSHIT!

If ya ain't got no degree, ya ain't never dun did no 'research' anyway! Rant over! Hear me Preach!

Hey friends, good morning! I didn't get that gnarly chunk of trunk yesterday, I said it was a 'slim to NONE' chance and none won!

That way I dint get disappointed. I'm still hopeful for today. We just started a beautiful weather pattern yesterday, sunny 66 degrees, the next 5 days will be in the 70's and even flirt with 80 by the weekend. The time is now for Gnarly Trunk!

One of the many things I love about living in the South is that Spring pops early! And if it's an 'early' Spring for the South, then that is super early to me because in northeast Ohio, Lake Erie keeps that area damp, cloudy and COLD well into May many years.

I almost always wake up in a great mood and sometimes by the end of the day I am a haggard mess!

Okay, I gotta get GIF ing...

I got that wood I wanted from the other side of the creek. Bunny got it for me and it pretty much fell apart but I can still use it. Probably three or 4 years ago would have been ideal. The tree fell 8 1/2 years ago. So here are six pics with words. Make that 8 pics but only six of them are bout my tank. The other two are booze related.

Time to booze it up!.jpgSometimes I like to have a tall glass of flavored strong liquor. This is coconut rum 70 proof, on ice in a tall glass, that's how I love it!

My friendly selection!.jpgEasy access for the clumsy!
so wasted.jpgI was a little bit disappointed in the condition of the wood but there is plenty to work with. I need to come up with some kind of weights. Right now I just have rocks holding two pieces down and the third and biggest piece is floating.

I could use zip ties on the wood and fasten a weight to the zip tie but I don't/can't think of what to use for a weight? Any suggestions would be very welcome! I like rocks too and rock piles look cool but I don't have many rocks at all, because I thought I could weigh it down with a few rock piles. That's my favorite idea.

Floating March 2, 2022 7pm Eastern.jpgIt doesn't look so good yet but as the weeks peel off, it will just keep getting better.

thats faggot weather.

Maybe put some big ass galvanized, or probably stainless, lag bolts in the back. Not sure how many lbs it will take to sink it though. I'm sure it would be easy to predrill a bunch of holes into the side you won't see.
Oh crap, that wood is so disintegrated that ya can poke holes in it with a piece of wire. It's funny how things give ideas, you mentioned 'drill' and I thought 'wire' and now I might use wire fastened to some big suction cups and still use rocks too. I'm also hoping the wood will get water logged making it easier to sink. Thanks Petey G!

Hey Slinkington, remember when I said I would put you to work? Well I meant to work for you, if we was neighbors I would help you make or build anything you want so long as you paid for the material and it was within my abilities.
