Do you agree with adding the DH to the NL?

Hmmm?

DH is 1000x better. I don't want to watch a pitcher strikeout 95 out of 100 times and not even give a shit while they are up there. Which is the majority of pitchers in the league. Even the "good" hitting pitchers are terrible hitters.
You're trading about 5 levels of strategy for some old guy who gets packages from Toronto in the mail before every game.

No, thanks!

Reminder: baseball is dead

I prefer small ball. I would prefer that my team was full of Ted Williams or Babe Ruth. Both teams batting their pitchers still is equal opportunity. I prefer the game with the pitcher hitting. Of course, I prefer 2-way players in football also.

That pitcher is the momentum killer though. You get something going at the bottom of the order and then they make you hand over an out.

Even so it almost helps to make my point given that they are generally held up as the modern gold standard and their bunting was still pretty much their entire offensive contribution. Glavine had the highest OPS+ and it was 22.
I can't remember the other pitchers, but when Greinke was on the Brewers I remember them as being proud of their hitting. Mendoza Line level but it gave them an edge.

But a pitcher getting a hit only adds to the fire.

I listened to the game that Tony Cloninger hit 2 grand slams. One of the most memorable games of my youth.

They batted .175/.214/.244 collectively in 2011. Greinke was worse than the staff's average actually, he hit .143/.192/.204 that season. Pride only goes so far I guess,

Brewers pitchers were worse and batted .138/.152/.203 in 2012, Greinke hit better that season but was only there for part of it.

I'm sure it feels awesome to win the lottery too but that won't convince me that buying a ticket is something that I want to do

I would be willing to bet more people prefer DH in both leagues rather than pitchers hit. Avid or causal. The only demographic that would probably widely prefer the DH are the old fogies that grew up in a time when anyone throwing over 92 was considered a flamethrower and that advanced metrics didn’t matter. But thankfully that age group and thought is dying out.
Yeah, we grew up before bastardized baseball. You never even saw pure baseball.

Compare it to league average. It was quite an edge, actually.

.142/.177/.184. I don't think that the difference between those batting lines is that big of an edge, even over 300 PAs or so.

Tell me this... if your team had a position player batting .142/.177/.184 at the All-Star break and they replaced him with a .175/.214/.244 batter would you be excited for the second half and call that a "quite an" improvement?

Sure would, assuming fielding and pitching stats stayed the same. Outside a handful, DHers are barely replacement level hitters that bring nothing else to the table.

Kburjr I respect your opinion but you are using that term incorrectly.

Don't spoil my dreams. Should the Pirates not play just because they have a minimal chance of winning.

I think those coupons are expired, the price of tea in China still looks the same to me

Honestly, they should refuse to play until they get a real owner. I’ve been a loyal fan of the Braves and UGA my entire life and prior to 2021, there was a lot more heartache than joy that came with it, but I wouldn’t fault any Pirates fan for jumping ship to another team

I'd rather be a fan of the Bums than the Yankees. Historical reference.
