Well the word was Leach had accepted the job then your fans or alumni or someone revolted so he tucked his tail and came back to Pullman.? Everyone at Tennessee wanted Leach that I talked to.

That goes against Les' DNA. He wasn't willing to change. It really ain't in Coach O's DNA either but he deserves credit for swallowing real hard allowing it to happen.Think everyone said that in one form or another. LSU would get good QBs and skill players then pull a Kirby Smart on them, just never made sense. I thought when aggy came in and had success with JFF and Kingsbury, it would have changed, but no.. took another 7 seasons for LSU to finally get it right.. and then they replace the man with Ersminger or whatever his name is and the ex NFL coach lol..
yeah.. didn't the fans start revolting first? then Fulmer had to go in and clean it up?Well the word was Leach had accepted the job then your fans or alumni or someone revolted so he tucked his tail and came back to Pullman.

Les had better play while he was at osu offensively.. and he did it with two really good programs in the south division. Never knew why he couldn't replicate it in BR.. but the guy still won a championship (the weakest in the BCS era, but it still counts)That goes against Les' DNA. He wasn't willing to change. Which is why I wasn't on board with the Les hire at Kansas. They were not going to attract superior talent like LSU so that formula wasn't going to work.
you would have loved him, then he would wear on you and the fanbase would be calling for his head... all within 4 seasonsThat was Schiano. Now the AD started talking to him but was fired by the President and replaced by Fulmer. Fulmer went a different direction.
The original AD was dumb. He went after Schiano and did not interview anyone else. When that blew up, he panicked and talked to a bunch of people but the President fired him. There was a donor power struggle behind the scenes and Leach was likely a victim of this mess. The fans would have loved to have Leach, In fact he was in most fans top 3 picks. I think we are going in the right direction now and don't want to change but at the same time, I highly respect Leach and would have loved to have him in Knoxville.

I guess I don’t know the details on your end . I just know that Leach went to Knoxville to accept the job and Alex Grinch was offered our head coaching job. That was Schiano. Now the AD started talking to him but was fired by the President and replaced by Fulmer. Fulmer went a different direction.

That is what we all heard is the fans/alumni all but threatened the AD if Leach was the head coach.yeah.. didn't the fans start revolting first? then Fulmer had to go in and clean it up?
After a sobering sunday.. I'm worried that Chris Ash and his 4 over 3 press quarters defense is going to be all wrong for the air raid teams he faces in the Big 12. Air Raids seem to tear apart those types of defenses time and time again.. Baylor vs Michigan St in a bowl game several years ago.. Narduzzi vs oklahoma st in Pittsburgh, hell even Kliff got the best of Saban in his one season with JFF. TCU did the same vs the landsharks too.. Air Raids make good defenses look lackluster..
The one offense I know that will get scrapped after next November will be Arkansas.. Baby Briles isn't his daddy when it comes to running his Veer and SHoot offense.
I know that ou is like 0-4 in the CFP, but they did put a show vs GA, shame that Lincoln tried to go conservative in the 2nd half. Kyler, as usual, imploded coming out the gates and it was over after the 1st qtr despite him playing well the rest of the game. But had ou been in the SEC playing week to week, they would have beaten a lot of teams despite it's horrendous defense.
It sucks when you have really good QB play week to week.. offenses travel during the regular season.. when you have a few weeks to prepare, it's a different story. But I'm looking forward to it.. Instead of just jotting down a dub when you see MSU or Ole Miss, you now know you better be on your p's and q's.
Mississippi State is a 6-4 team, who beat another 6-4 team yesterday, maybe 7-3 at the outside.
David Cutcliffe? Franklin? Those 2 are about as cutting edge as a butter knifeThis post is dumb because the schools you listed are always hiring crazy coaches to try new stuff. Ole Miss hired Houston Nutt for Wildcat, Hugh Freeze who ran an interesting offense, and David Cutcliffe all coaches to shake up things. Miss State did that with Dan Mullen. Vandy with Jamss Franklin.
This. Everything Leach does is meant to mitigate his recruiting issues. He tries to get the ball out fast and eliminate the need for great OL and take the opponents more talented DL out of the equation. I doubt he becomes anything more than a thorn in the side of the SEC West. Mostly screwing up their defensive stats and getting the occasional upset. He is one of the few coaches left running a pure version on the Air Raid.I think you are underestimating the air raid. This isn't something SEC opponents are used to seeing...especially Leach's scheme. As soon as a team limits this passing attack you have the SEC's leading rusher you have to stop as well. The defense didn't look great but it really wasn't bad. LSU got 34 points but 7 were off of pick 6's and Miss St was sloppy with turnovers. They can get better, this is only the beginningge. I'm not saying they win the SEC but 7-8 wins is pretty realistic. Have to see more though but they have more upside than we've even saw this past Saturday. 7 sacks against this strong LSU OL is pretty impressive in itself.
Just curious. In your opinion, do you think MSU CAN win the conference with any kind of "it" if they are unable to get the caliber of recruits of at Bama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, etal?Having read 4 pages of the thread:
- This game was the perfect alignment for this type of win and loss - LSU had 4 starters back from last year's team. 4. The idea they were ranked in the top 5 is one of the overrating travesties of all time. who didn't see this coming? They also lost their DC, their QB coach. They didn't have a spring to implement their new D. Their top DB was suddenly out of the game, and he's not just a top DB, he's the top DB in the country. Lack of knowledge of the Pirate and their new QB, who played out of his mind, and you have the perfect alignment for this type of win.
- The SEC has the athletes on D to counter, and they have the coaches that will. Give the SEC DCs another couple games, and they will start countering what works for Leach. Doesn't mean he won't win his share, and get MSU top be a top team in the West, but I don't think he can win the conference with it, and I don't think he will be able to recruit much better than MuLLLen did.
- I wish we had drawn someone other than MSU for one of our crossover games, Leach is going to make them a tough out, although I don't seeing him winning consistently.
- Damn Gators just keep getting luckier and luckier this season - TAMU barely beat Vandy ffs.
- I sure am glad that UTjr fucked up and didn't sign him as a coach. Would hate to play him every year with the type of players he could get at UTjr.
- Having Leach and Kiffin in the SEC is fantastic.
My Doggies gonna fuck Bama up!Mississippi State is a 6-4 team, who beat another 6-4 team yesterday, maybe 7-3 at the outside.

Leach doesn't put much effort into recruiting. In fact he just throws guys in there expecting results. It's all about the system with him.Just curious. While that may be true I'm not sure it would have made any difference considering where he's been. Hell, it'd be hard for Saban and Dabo to recruit to Lubbock and Pullman! Only place I can think of harder to recruit to is El Paso!Leach doesn't put much effort into recruiting. In fact he just throws guys in there expecting results. It's all about the system with him.
Nope just don’t turn the shit on until the game has started and listen to your teams radio feed. All you have to do to avoid the bullshit.u might not want to watch CFB anymore and maybe join a corn hole league #BLM
