Do you agree with adding the DH to the NL?

Hmmm?

I attended six brewers games last year. Of all of those games, here's one of the stand-out moments...

Friday, July 23rd versus the White Sox

Freddy Peralta was pitching very well against some really good bats. 1 hit, no runs through four. Bottom of the fourth Brewers got four straight guys on base with Tellez singling in the first run of the game. Two outs and bases loaded - Peralta is up. What do you do? Do you let him swing? Do you pinch hit for him? So much can go right and so much can go wrong no matter which way the manager decides to play it. The game's outcome could hinge on this one strategic decision.

Sadly, that strategic decision and its wildly fascinating ramifications will never be seen again. Fucking DH. :tsk:

No, I use it correctly. Check out the WAR of all but the top 3 DH and report back.

Just post the data you are citing, this is vague needle in a haystack shit.

There are some strategy plays I’ll miss. The last two playoff games I’ve been to have featured the fans booing pinch hitting for a pitcher who was pitching a great game only to start going wild when the PH came through.

2018 NLDS game 2 when Adam Duvall hit a PH 2 run homer when Folty had CG shutout written all over him to make a 1-0 lead a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 7th.

2021 NLCS game 6, Snitker decides to pull Ian Anderson after just 4 innings of 1 run ball with a man on first and two outs. Ehire Adrianza comes up with a double that set up Rosario’s 3 run homer that turned out to be the series winning shot

DH is 1000x better. I don't want to watch a pitcher strikeout 95 out of 100 times and not even give a shit while they are up there. Which is the majority of pitchers in the league. Even the "good" hitting pitchers are terrible hitters.
This is my take as well.

I'm going to assume that you are removing Ohtani. Are you just looking at the WAR leaderboard for qualified DHs? I need to know more about what you mean here. Are you looking at the overall production at the position or just individual guys that you see as DHs?

Let's try this. I have the 2021 raw stats for DHs in front of me. Tell me which 3 players to remove and we can look at what the production from the position looks like without them.

One managerial detail that people sometimes don't consider is that you do have to watch/manage your pitchers closer/better because you don't have a convenient spot to lift them. There's no reward helping to offset the risk of letting a guy face just one more hitter.

Dude was hurling 100 waaay before fuckin 'roids, bro. You know that.

NO ONE can tell me pitchers were "pussies" before these coddled, pansy-ass dickheads now. NO ONE.
Not pussies, but the vast majority were soft tossers by today’s standards

100 fastball? That's it? Cute. Shit. We got college pitchers hitting 104 these days.

Degrom out here throwing 94-95 mph sliders.

Ohtani throwing 92-93 mph splitters.

Umm, maybe look at Nolan Ryan's numbers. Do you have any concept whatsoever of what those guys did back then? With no help? Smoking cigarettes and drinking beer in the dugout, tossing CG's and coming back on three days and going it again? Don't EVEN try to compare the two.

What Ryan looks like compared to these college pitchers

Ohtani, Yordan Alvarez, George Springer
