Davante Adams traded to Vegas

He threw for the fifth most yards in the league last season with Hunter Renfrow as his #1 WR. Not trying to knock Renfrow, he is one of the best in the business at what he does, but he shouldn't be a #1 WR.

I don't think Raiders win the division by any means but I like their shot at a Wild Card
It just felt like he makes bad decisions and turns the ball over too much. I could be off base because I’m not looking at the stats right now

He does make some boneheaded decisions sometimes but I think it's a little overblown. When the game is on the line, the guy seems to just be money.

He is was top 7 in almost every statistical category last season with his outliers being rating and TDs.

Not worried about the offense, the defense is a concern still despite showing improvement over the course of last season

Derek Carr is a good QB but not elite. The addition of Adams will benefit him greatly.

Adams bought a mansion in Vegas about a week before Rodgers signed his deal.

Apparently....if he left GB he wanted to play with Carr.
There was talk in this area last week that Adams would be traded.

Yeah, more cuts on the way too. I'm less enthused about Rodgers being resigned.

Rumor has it the team has asked some player to restructure for the next two years. Randall Cobb yesterday, and more going forward.

I’m all for some restructuring. It’s a great tool to fit in a free agent in later seasons after you’ve given a star player an extension. But, you can’t cut too deep with it.

And, while restructures the same year a star is extended have happened it’s usually a later years thing you have to use it. Again, hopefully sparingly.

I’m not sure how sparing you can be when one player will be roughly 20-25% of the cap.

Just more proof these escalating QB salaries are out of control and make it impossible the field a competitive squad.

“Sure Aaron…here is the love….but you won’t like the reality coming next”.
Players will follow the money. That is a reality in pro sports.

It’s definitely a problem with the economics of the game. At some point, some savvy owner is going to figure out he can outduel most teams with 3+ “good enough” guys, making $5 mil each

Having an elite QB makes it easier to win in the NFL.

Aside from the Jordan Love pick they have been very good.
AJ Dillon, MVS, and Equinnameous whatever are the only draft picks in the last 5 years I can think of that have been productive.

Elgton Jenkins, Aaron Jones, and Zaire Alexander have been very productive players.

The problem is, there’s only about 4 of those guys in the NFL at any one time. There are about 10-15 more who are paid as though they’re elite. Owners can delude themselves all they want that guys like Goff, Mayfield, Wentz and Garoppolo might have breakout years, but it almost never happens. Meanwhile, defenses, offensive/defensive lines and special teams suffer because of overblown contracts to one or two guys.
