March Madnes 2022 NCAA Men’s Tournament

You are probably correct about the NBA.

Football (both college and pro) is basically one game but football is a sport where it is hard to not win if you are not the best team. This is why mid-majors rarely do well in big-time games and the most talented teams usually win. Even if you did a 64-team College Football Bracket, you would not see 16 over 1s, 15 overs 2s, or 14 over 3s. The 1s would likely not be challenged until the Elite 8.

The easy fix to improve would be to give the top seeds home field advantage for first couple of games. However, I see the appeal of the current format for excitement and understand why we wouldn't change.

Plus, I am a little bias right now since my team lost to an 11 seed Michigan who had one of their best games of the season while Tennessee could not hit open 3s that they were making the week before in Atlanta for the SEC Tournament.
Youre are the worst. "my team lost, so this format sucks."

So you think advantages should be given to top seeded teams? Why? Arent they the top teams already? Why do they need more?

Easy fix is give top teams home court advantage? Dude, stfu, with your sour grapes ass. Every time your team loses you come on here and bitch about everything except your team shitting the bed. There is no easy way to determine a best team in the whole country. Part of this tourney is taking teams out of their comfort zone, and playing against teams they dont normally play against. Some conferences play different types of ball, and it doesnt always match up well with other conferences. Just because a team does well in conference, doenst mean shit in the tourney. Styles of play create advantages and disadvantages, like in boxing. Its about being able to adapt, make in game changes, and playing your best game, every game.

Its not about ensuring the absolute best team wins. Its about the best team in the tournament, and throughout the tournament. Not who should win. Its about being consistently good, smart, and if you shit the fucking bed and have a bad game, you werent the best team in the tourney. Just go home, and dont be a fucking baby about it. sheesh.

That is fair. You have situation in other sports too where teams win and are not the best. The Cincinnati Bengals this past year was a classic example. Both the Titans and Chiefs crap the bed against them.

Look up the 1994 Denver Nuggets vs Seattle in the 1st round. Even the best in a 5 or 7 games series can lose. It’s much more about who can get it together and get hot late in the season. Like the super bowl, nba, hockey, college b-ball, golf, tetherball and even curling. Womens volleyball perhaps as well even tho I just watch it for the shorts

the one thing that should never be changed is the NCAA tourney

Turnovers are the closest thing to an equalizer in football, but there really isn't anything quite like just not being able to hit shots on a certain night.

The tournament makes big money by drawing people who don't follow college basketball that closely all year.

If St Peters has to go to Lexington, yea, they cant win, but then its much less of a draw.

The tournament and rooting for your team are 2 separate things.

Football is different. The games are so long so eventually depth plays a part.

I feel like with basketball, it comes down to how your shooting is that day. Go outside and shoot the ball, some days everything is droppings and others nothing is going in. It is just the way of the sport.

This is why March Madness is NOT a very good method for determining a champion because the best team may have a poor shooting day and get beat. Three #1 seeds and two #2 seeds are already gone.
There is no doubt that shooting is a part of it. There are days when teams can't throw it in the ocean if they are standing on the dock.

But March Madness IS more of a playoff. CFP is an invitational. Big difference. If you reduce invitations far enough there is not risk of the top seeds losing early.

I never said it wasn't exciting, I am just saying it really isn't the best method for determining who is the best team in the sport. It is actually one of the worse out of all sports.

Based on March Madness logic, Arkansas should have been the SEC Champion.
It may not be. But, IMHO it is a hell of a lot better than sitting around and voting on it like a beauty pageant. At least it is settled by playing and winning several games in a row. And each subequent opponent has also won games on the court in order to get to the same point.

I'll tell you this and you can decide who or what criteria makes for the Best, or whatever. But remember this, you cannot be the BEST TEAM without being CHAMPIONS.

Or, put another way: to be the man, you gotta BEAT the man

This Kansas/Providence game is a really bad shooting game so far especially Providence

Go Kansas. I want to see them pull ahead of Kentucky in W’s.

Really bad foul on a 3 pointer by Kansas right before half. Can’t bail them out
