As a kid growing up playing and watching brawl filled hockey in the 70's and knowing Paul Newman as Mr Squeaky clean that movie was a riot.

Yeah, I only saw it for the first time a couple years ago. I didn't care for it.

Miracle, however, I have to watch at least once a year. It is fantastic.

As far as the accuracy of the settings, people and situations that it is trying to depict it could not be more perfect. I guess it depends what you are looking for from it (for instance I don't particularly care for the Hansons although once again I would say that they are depicted perfectly).

I can see where it's a generational thing. Miracle is really good as well and here's a fun fact about that game; anyone that says that they watched it live was either at the game in Lake Placid or misremembering because the game was only shown on tape delay the next day.

I also own a copy of Slap Shot 2 that I have never watched as it was actually cheaper to buy them together than it was to buy Slap Shot on its own. I wonder if it's like the ET video game of the new millenium?

As a snapshot of life it is not a panoramic but it is perfect.
