Actors/Actresses You Think Always Deliver

Out of all of those, people picked Denzel to criticize?

Maaan if that ain't some racism...

He is far and away the best actor on there. Keanu Reeves is far and away the worst actor on there, but he does a lot of action so he gets passes.

I remember rewatching Speed about a year ago and thinking 'my goodness, Keanu is a terrible actor', but I do still like the movie. Speed is very entertaining, but Hopper and Bullock blow him away in terms of acting.
well I agree with Leo...he usually picks quality movies.

I don't follow the women all that much...so there aren't many times that I say "I need to see this, Kate Blanchette is in it"

Keanu is special...not all his movies are great but I am happy to see him doing stuff again...but he had some duds as well.

Denzel is the main one who I think picks some stinkers on that list...kind of like Johnny Depp only not as bad

Oh Depp is terrible. If it weren't for the PotC movies, he would've disappeared into B or C level long ago.

I would add Joel Edgerton. He's a pretty good actor that flies under most people's radar.

for some reason I like to think of it as "if so and so is in this movie/show, it improves the movie/show"...and not necessarily in a major role.

like seeing Timothy Oliphant in The Mandalorian improved that for me...and when I found out he was in it, I wanted to see what it was more.

there are times I will see a movie and say "so and so was the only bright spot in that movie."

I think John Goodman is another one.

Well your interpretation of how I meant the question was definitely correct haha. Of course I know fucking Leo and Denzel are stars and gonna be great lead actors.

But ilke you said guys like Olyphant can be a side character in something and really make it great or watchable.

Thats why I mentioned Bernthal. He mostly plays side characters sometimes only a scene or two(hes publicly said he likes this too) and sometimes the movie itself is god fucking awful. But he makes it compelling.

Example. That stupid ass movie with the Rock trying to get his son out of jail. I watched that strictly for Bernthal and Michael K Williams(RIP).

Or Walton Goggins. Hateful 8 and Django are tarantino movies. Those moves would be great regardless. But his inclusion makes them ever better. He steals the show in Hateful 8.

I think he does great with Tim Burton...who is another director I will more than likely always go see

I am looking forward to Bernthal's new David Simon show on HBO...but again I would see it just because it is David Simon. Bernthal being in it makes it a little nicer.

That show looks awesome.

So many Wire actors in it too. Marlo being part of the main cast. A lot of the others supporting.

Perfect role for Bernthal. And perfect true story premise for Simon to handle.

few people know Baltimore better than Simon

and Michael K Williams was another one...always loved when he popped up in shows.

I guess I can give ya that. Burton has a certain style and has used Depp so much it would probably be more weird if Depp wasn't in one of his movies lol

:wtf:

That's some dumb shit.
Nah, that's some real talk. Don't get me wrong, he has a few decent movies, but personally, I don't believe he was necessarily good in them. I'm thinking of movies like Blow or Public Enemies.

As for the B or C level movies.... what has he done lately? Looking at his IMDB, he's done quite a few things I've never even heard of and I'm a pretty big movie guy.

The Christopher Guest crew--the Michael McKeans, Eugene Leveys, Catherine O'Haras. They're always great in things.

Again, you're taking a thing, and presenting it as the opposite of the reality of the thing. he's a good actor, who's done a lot of terrible shit.

Again? What are you talking about? Projecting? And Depp is mediocre on his best day.

For lesser known actors, Jon Lovitz and Kevin Dunn are pretty good.
