Has anybody noticed the price per night of Airbnb rentals sky rocketing?

Nope.

But I'd trust them less than I would a hotel right now. I've stayed in a few hotels since COVID has hit, and I've been very comfortable and felt safe.

Also - hotels are VERY cheap right now.

But are there hotels secluded and on a 5 acre lake that is all for me? I think I paid about $120/night this time last year for it and now it is $185/night.

Maybe they're trying to make up for lost munnies during the pandemic?

I don't stay in ABnB's often, but when I do, my wife usually does the booking stuff, so I don't really know if the rates are up or down.

I get it, but that's like a 60% increase. I was going to go back there in October if it was available but not at that rate. And from the looks of the reviews, it appears as though it's had good occupancy this year.

I think we're looking for different experiences.

If I wanted something like that, I'd just rent a cabin, or

buy.... which is what I've been looking for up on the Iron Range.... kind of. Except nothing is coming to market. But I'm particular about a specific area (lake or chain of lakes).....

FOKKEN COVID.... :tsk:

Maybe they're just jerks?

Kind of what I'm doing

yeah, I know.... that's kind of why I'm trying to buy. My Sis and her hubby have done quite well with theirs.
We rent a place on Lake George every summer. Every year, we talk about buying something up there, but then we usually talk ourselves out of it. We'd have to winterize it, pay for someone to maintain it during the off-season, etc.

I wouldn't consider anything that wasn't year-round use ready.

Long legs in the background. Is this at a bar?

Obviously you're not a golfer
