I was thinking the same thing. Everything I've read said he was trying to cross the interstate. But I can't imagine the interstate was packed at 6:30 am on a weekend -- so not sure how he didn't notice a DUMP TRUCK -- I could see a speeding sports car, but a dump truck, you'd hear and see it coming.

Not jumping to conclusions, but I think there is more to this story.

Nothing funny about Baker Mayfield not being worth Pittsburgh’s time. He just isn’t good enough for them to bother with.
 
I haven't read anything other than headlines. How did this happen? Did someone run a light? Did he fail to look when crossing? Do we know?

Seems he had a mechanical issue and he got out of his vehicle and tried to cross the highway and got picked off by a dump truck. That's the latest report.

I'm a bit surprised as well.

Truth is I never heard of this kid before today because I don't follow college FB at all and I hate the Steelers with the fire of a thousand burning suns. 24 years old though, holy shit that is sad AF :facepalm:
