LOL ... I pretty much said you would respond that way in what I wrote.Anyone want to give me the cliff notes?
Dude, Ignore me if you don't want to read what I write. It's a simple thing to do. You are an angry man, it seems. That would require me to read his nonsense.
It's how I treat all of your long, hot winded, posts.LOL ... I pretty much said you would respond that way in what I wrote.
Ignore button, brother, sounds like it might make your life more calm. Damn ... imagine getting your panties in a twist because someone types a few words. It's how I treat all of your long, hot winded, posts.
I'm sure back in the 80's and before it likely had more of a college town feel. it was still the state capital but the population was smaller and thus more dependent on the school. It has seen huge boom in growth of AUS and the surrounding suburbs since the 90's and with that came its own identity as a city that didn't revolve around the school there. College Station is a college town. In the summer or over spring break it is dead empty. During the school year everything is packed, because students and faculty make up a huge portion of the population. Less than 10% of the Austin population is a student or faculty. You live in Texas, so I'll defer to you on that. I suppose I wouldn't call Nashville a college town even though it has a dozen colleges in it. Curious ... was there are a time that Austin was a college town as you define it, and then it blew up in size and grew away from the university having an oversized impact?
I do ignore you by just not reading what you write. If you don't like me pointing out that your wall of words are a waste of time as well as not very well thought out, then ignore me. It's a simple thing to do. You project your anger on others too easily. "How dare you not read and revere this spewing of bullshit I wrote!!!"Dude, Ignore me if you don't want to read what I write. Feel free. I love twisting your skiviesIgnore button, brother, sounds like it might make your life more calm. Damn ... imagine getting your panties in a twist because someone types a few words.
He said, twisted up over a few words people say about his incoherent writing style.Ignore button, brother, sounds like it might make your life more calm. Damn ... imagine getting your panties in a twist because someone types a few words.
I could read it, but I prefer to completely waste my time on other thingsHe said, twisted up over a few words people say about his incoherent writing style.
Sometimes I stare at a blank TV instead of reading his garbage.I could read it, but I prefer to completely waste my time on other things
In that I was in college from 77-81, was last there for depositions in the last 80s, it's probably that's how I remember it.I'm sure back in the 80's and before it likely had more of a college town feel. it was still the state capital but the population was smaller and thus more dependent on the school. Don't go back, it's not the same. Let it live on as a nice place in your memories. In that I was in college from 77-81, was last there for depositions in the last 80s, it's probably that's how I remember it.
No, it's just what you said made sense. Austin in my mind is what I knew it back many years ago. It made me think how wrong I'd be if I said Nashville was a college town. Again, you made sense, and I agreed.I do enjoy how quickly he went from "little brother"ing me and trying to make fun of me to what I can only assume was him doing some research to see that I was right and he was wrong in that Austin in fact is not considered by anyone with a brain to be a "college town". I bet even the Texas Exes that I argue with daily here would agree that Austin doesn't revolve around the school anymore.
I truly wish I had done the same thing with the Ole Miss Grove that everyone raves about. It was truly a grove in the late 70s where you could throw a football. Now it's wall to wall tents and generators. I am doing my best to remember it as it was.Don't go back, it's not the same. Let it live on as a nice place in your memories.
I am the last person that projects my anger on anyone. I type what I type. Read it if you want. Don't if you don't want to. It really doesn't matter to me. I admit to getting caught up in the insults here, often in jest, but this place or any sports board never makes me mad. That would be absurd. There's been a half dozen posts in the last half hour attacking that I write too much ... I simply am pointing out that no one here has to read it.I do ignore you by just not reading what you write. Understood. And just because people say you write too much, it doesn't mean they are angry. Nor does disagreeing with you make them angry.I am the last person that projects my anger on anyone. Yeah man.. when I was growing up there it still felt like a college town, but not anymore. Don't get me wrong, there's tons of UT related things around the city and majority of people still have longhorn decals on their Tesla's but it isn't a college town at all.The one in which Texas' flagship university is located in it. Damn, aggies getting their panties in a bunch already and Tejas hasn't even officially started playing in the SEC yet. Little brother syndrome coming through loud and clear. And here you thought you had gotten away from that. LOL
OH MY GOD! I tried. I tried to read it. I was so bored, I thought, " wtf, let's see where this goes".Yours is a fair post. I'll explain if you care to read ... if not, doesn't matter to me. I have tons of things I do when I am not working - several hobbies, including fishing, poker, photography. I am really involved with my kids, although less so since they are in college. Have a great wife. Take care of my 93 year old father in law who lives with us. College football is my main passion, my main hobby. Run my own successful business. Looking forward to retiring in 5-8 years, although I will always work.
But more than anything, I have always had an intense curiosity about learning new things. I actually enjoyed learning in school. Today I read vociferously ... I have been a speed reader since the 10th grade, so I can consume a lot. The running joke in my family is whenever I say, "I read an article today ...." When the ESPN article was released I read it ... it happened the exact same time I was in college. It was an intense read, at least to me. I was surprised that I had never heard about it. So, I posted about it here. When others started attacking Joe Pa , my natural curiosity was "dang, that's not what I recall reading." Now, some people would just say, ah, who cares. And I really didn't care that others disagreed, only that perhaps I misread it. So I went back and dug into it. Not to be right. But just so that I would know what the facts really were. Had I been wrong, I'd have said so ... I've admitted I was wrong here before on many occasions. As I did that, and we had a thread on it, I might as well share with anyone here that wanted to read it. That's what I did ... if you didn't like it, that's your right. If you don't like my "unsolicited" - as if one have to be invited to post here - novels, as you put it, you and everyone else has the right to ignore me. There is a button specifically for that purpose. My feelings won't be hurt.
I assure you I am not a lifeless loser ... I've lived a full life and I'd put mine up against yours today. Hopefully both our lives would look great! And I am not trying to impress anyone. It's just the way I learn, share, and communicate. I'm sure you'll even comment on how long this is ... it took less than 5 minutes to compose and type it. Maybe you'll see another side, probably not. Don't really care because, as I said, I am not here to impress you or anyone else. You can take or leave what I share ... doesn't affect me one bit.
Thanks for your post.
