Best Card Game growing up

just remembered, when i was in Montana,
we'd play pinochle with the grandparents -
loved that game -
don't know many who play here in the south -

Down here, the second person playing an ace of spades in one hand gets shot.

War was a fun summer porch card game. Not a lot of skill involved.

High card wins, same card? 3 face down and flip the 4th. Highcard wins.

I bet some of you guys from the midwest and up near the border have played Euchre. That's what we grow up playing in southern Ontario.

Yep. I didn't play it as a kid, but I learned it in my teens. My wife is from Michigan and played it regularly during high school lunch breaks with friends. I've got a couple brothers that know how to play it, too, so when it's just us four around a card table we'll get a game or two in.

I learned that when I was in the navy. IMHO it's the most fun card game to play for four players.

Rummy, Hearts, Spades all gooduns

but never played them as a "kid"

Pinochle was our go to in the military.
