42,OOO

Yeah, nah. Never understood why people care about spring games so much. Seems really weird imo.

If I was that bored, I’d just go stare at the ocean for about an hour or something idk.
I just go play golf in 35+ MPH West Texas winds.

Come to think of it, we don't have an ocean to stare at But we've got a lot of beach that sand blasts us this time of year.

First, that would be some serious SRO.

Second, really? I had no idea it was that small. That's Vandy sized. Are most PAC stadiums that size?
And Vandy doesn't even fill that one do they? But, who am I to say anything. My guys can't put but 25,000 in a 55,000 seat stadium.

May be personal preference. I've been to games at both DKR and Kyle field. I've also been to games at Amon Carter and McLane. The experience in the smaller ones was much more enjoyable to me. Guess it is a matter of preference.

And isn't the trend to go smaller but nicer? IIRC, Arizona State decided to go with less capacity and wider seats and nicer amenities when they renovated. Isn't it etter to have a full 45,000 stadium than 15,000 in a 75,000 seat stadium like Miami?

I read an article earlier in the week about the Oakland A's looking to move to Vegas. Preliminary plans are for an elaborate stadium on the strip that only seats 30,000. They don't even draw that many in Oakland right now. I'll see if I can find the article.

Stanford also downsized their stadium recently. I'd rather have a smaller stadium with nicer facilities than play in a big stadium that's a dump.

Only teams that can’t fill seats go with lower capacity. Vandy’s stadium is about the right size. It’s a home away from home for UGA fans every other year

it started at 41000 Oregon started getting better so expanded to 54000 plus 6000 standing by expanding 1 side. they could increase but it would require a bit of an overhaul on the current sky boxes. for a good 20 years was constantly over capacity even upwards of 110%. last couple been under. even if they did i doubt they would go up another 13000. could probably go up 8 without having to do something with boxes.

That's adorable.

How bored do you have to be to be a grown ass person and care about, or worse, show up for a spring practice?

Well, for some people, season tickets are too expensive and out of the question, so going to the Spring Game with the family actually gets you in the stands and you get to see your team, and make an afternoon of it with the family.

Me, personally; I would never go to a Spring Game myself, so I understand the sentiment.

some gown ass people go because they have not grown ass people that want to.

Care about? Not really.
Sit around drinking beer and catching up with buddies while halfway watching a football game? Absolutely.

I'm just bitter because I don't care anymore.

My enjoyment of the spring game went up considerably after they started selling alcohol inside the stadium.
Think the last one I went to was the first one they had a beer garden open. Might not help that UW has replaced a proper spring game with a light scrimmage/skills competition/fan fest every year since Sark first did it. Think they were gonna finally have a game this year, but went back on it because of injuries. I guess I can see the appeal if you have kids who are into it and want to meet players and be on the field.

But god damn, if I want to go kick back and be bored while paying $15/beer in a stadium, I'll just go to a Mariners' game.

I think the beer inside Autzen was $9. Still atrocious, but most of the drinking you've already done at the tailgate anyway.

Is there a list of Spring Game attendance ??? from most to least

Where is 42,000 on that list?

uw's beer garden is trash anyway. just tucked in 1 corner if you want to watch you basically have to dry hump someone or watch on the tvs they have there.
