Tennessee Will Open The 2023 Season In Nashville, Not In Provo Against BYU

The Tennessee football program was previously scheduled to open the 2023 season with a trip to Provo, Utah to play BYU. But now, the Vols will be making The Vols won't have to travel far to open the 2023 season.

They lost to BYU at home in 2019 and were supposed to travel to Provo.

They bought them out to bring Virginia to Knoxville.

I read they’re playing Virginia in Nashville. Nobody wants to go to Provo and it ain’t because they’re worried about BYU’s football team.

They didn’t want to embarrass our armed forces. I don’t ever wanna see Army, Navy or Air Force on the schedule because I’d feel a little bad about blowing them out

Tennessee isn’t a real rival and we probably won’t play them every year when the pods come out. Plus I don’t like Mormons

Yeah, fuck the labels.

UVA’s a sub-par P5 team, BYU’s a pretty consistent 9-10 win team. UT took a de-facto home game vs the former instead of a road game vs the latter.

They took the easy way out.

There’s a reason why Bronco Mendenhall left BYU for Virginia. It’s a better job and a tougher matchup. Virginia ain’t losing to UAB
