Hard to point to something today, I’d point to the first three games for a good example of the ’fantastic job’ he has done of improving a 1 win team where no one cared. Now people care, if only temporarily until Deion goes to Dallas, but still.

Did he turn them around though? Like, yes, they were godawful last year, but he came in, the majority of the team walked, and he brought in everyone worth bringing from Jackson State and hit the transfer portal hard. He's got them to where they're winning close games against meh teams and getting absolutely pantsed the first time they see a legit top 25 team.

Not saying he's done nothing, but turned around is a stretch. Started over with his own players is more accurate.

1-11 last year, what is the bar for turn around? I think they make a bowl game

Also, any coach is going to thin out the previous roster. Why would you want to keep the same people if they aren't buying in?

Isn't it different when there is complete roster turnover? I mean going from 1-11 with mostly the same kids is HUGE. Telling most of the kids you inherit to leave or they are dropping your scholarship and then going surfing in the portal is new and different.

He brought something different, but I can't say he flipped a 1-11 team. He built what looks like a fairly mid team out of the portal.

Agreed, but I think there are very few coaches who could have done that, which is my point. He went to a school where literally no one cared and have turned them into a National talking point. Beating TCU was a big win. I’m impressed with Dieon. And I think it’s funny how angry he makes people.
