GAME #12 OREGON DUCKS vs Stanford Cardinal 7:30 PM Est ABC 11/7

Big question marks with the Oregon defense with all the opt-outs. Also losing the best OL in the country stings. Fortunate that game 1 is against Stanford and not Arizona State or USC.

The OL looked great but the secondary had issues with all the opt outs. Disappointing since that should have been one of the better units in the country.

Am I seeing this correctly? The Duckies have @ Wazzou, UCLA, @ Oregon State, @Cal, and Washington left? I think you can pencil them into the CFP.

They also have a 7th game. The opponent is just TBD

Thats a horrible schedule.

Luckily we dodge Kansas State
There will most likely be a lot of trash talking in this thread later on, and in every OD thread this season.

Please do not take this as anything against Oregon.

WTH? So they have another game on the schedule but they don't know who it is?

It's the championship weekend. The PAC 12 is doing the same thing as the Big Ten. 1st place team in the North plays 1st place team in the South, 2nd place plays 2nd place, etc.

So, if Oregon and USC both win out they could play each other two weeks in a row?

No. Oregon and USC aren't set to play each other. Oregon plays Washington right before championship weekend.

@Deep Creek
That week 7 game is the PAC championship game.
it’s just the other teams also get a game.

So, this replaces the CCG and gives everyone an extra game! I'll be damn. I must have been under a rock when this was announced. Are the playing at one teams home site or neutral sites?

A couple of serious takeaways from the game:

Positives:
- Play calling is so much better. Joe Moorhead called a great game.
- Offensive line (with 5 new starters) looked very good.
- Shough showed potential. He didn't play a perfect game but not bad for his first career start.
- Noah Sewell is a monster freshmen. Absolute beast
- WRs are playing a lot better. A lot of credit to McClendon

Negatives:
- Front 7 was disappointing. They let Stanford get way too many chunk plays when they were running the football.
- Secondary isn't what it was projected to be with all the opt outs. There's still talent back there but it's not the elite, deep group without Holland, Graham and Breeze
- Kicking is still an issue

I actually think Stanford looks much better than last year. When they get Mills back, they are going to be a tough out.
