2021 Concerts

Go to one of his shows and find out for yourself.

:rolleyes2: Take note, @White Knight, this is how you answer a question and indulge in human conversation:

they play a nice, tight set, sound quality is on-point, and all the musicians in the band are masters of their craft

I'm not a Dave Matthews fan. I'm also not a Dave Matthews hater. In the event that I'm at a music festival and Dave Matthews is in the lineup, having a little foresight of what makes them a good show might sway me to partake in their tunes versus use that time for other things.

When I go to a concert I'm there for the music. If they stand or sit and do nothing but play their tunes it's what I'm there for.

If I was ever brain dead enough to want a floor show I'd go to Vegas or Broadway.

I don't require singers floating down from on high though clouds of pyrotechnic smoke.
That's a fair synopsis and that's exactly why I asked the question. Some people are there just for the tunes and don't give the slightest crap about theatrics. Some love theatrics. Some require pristine sound quality as top priority. Some are attracted to the energy of the band and crowd. Some like the sexualization of the show. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Saying "good show" means completely different things to different people, so I simply requested clarification.

This isn't complicated. If you want to find out if he puts on a good show go and find out for yourself.

I haven't been to a DMB show since college, but he always did put on a good show. Their fan following is strong since they tour every summer and there is a lot of fan interaction with their songs...plus he just knows how to play to crowd.

a buddy of mine mentioned a few weekends ago that he wants to go to a DMB show and I immediately looked to see if he was coming anywhere close...and it's sold out. Bummer. Lawn tickets are going for $100 each, and that's ridiculous

Explain why you feel one way or another. That's how humans do things. This isn't difficult, Gigi

I like something because reason.

Was planning on seeing the Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary tour and Judas Priest but both shows will cost over 100 bones per ticket.

To hell with that.

You seem obsessed with that Gigi woman.

No REM?

pass
I've seen them...was mainly going to see Modest Mouse opening though...got there late and only caught the end of Modest Mouse's set...

REM wasn't bad though

Was going to see Old folks Boogie with the Stones last May but got COVIDed.

And now I get a refund as while they are going to tour the Excited states, they are no going to do Vancouver which had been their only Canuck date.

May hafta go see that Primus tribute to Rush, now that I see Battles will be opening for em'.

Fun band. John Stanier, from Helmet and Tomahawk is their drummer, and he is a monster. 😮

I was thinking about getting tickets for the Milwaukee show, but I guess they are covering the Tribute to Kings album in full. I'm really not a huge fan of that album, so I'm gonna pass.

I have seen Primus more times than I can remember, so I would be going for Battles, and more specifically John Stainer.

Tried to get tickets to NIN and Pixies in Cleveland yesterday, they sold out before I got through the queue.
It is with great regret that we are cancelling all NIN appearances for the remainder of this year. When originally planned, these shows were intended to be a cathartic and celebratory return to live music. However, with each passing day it’s becoming more apparent we’re not at that place yet. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment and look forward to seeing you again when the time is right.
Feel better about missing out on the tickets, but not a good sign.
