This (player movement) is definitely starting to resemble the NBA as far as roster management is concerned.

Transfers have played huge roles for several teams in the past few years. But most transfers didn't go to another team in the same conference. Going to be interesting when players return to the place they left this year. Tech fans weren't too polite to Beard on his return to Lubbock. Will players get similar treatment?

These are just the ones I've noticed within the Big 12.
Tyreese Hunter - Iowa State to Texas
Jaylon Tyson - Texas to Texas Tech
Kevin McCullar - Texas Tech to Kansas
Jalen Bridges - West Virginia to Baylor
Rondell Walker - Oklahoma State to TCU
Tre Mitchell - West Virginia to Texas

Are other conferences seeing something similar or is this a Big 12 thing. (Oklahoma and K-State are the only teams not listed....one way or the other.)

That's pretty crazy. I think it's mostly a Big 12 thing. I can't think of any intra conference transfers in the B1G. Hunter is going to walk into a hostile environment when he goes back to Ames. ISU fans were really pissed that he left. I can see Tech fans holding it against McCullar. Given what they did to Beard. I don't think any of those other players really move the needle that much. Good college players, but not at the level of Hunter and McCullar.

Also, in regards to the OP, if Houston is still +1800 that's definitely worth betting on. Getting Sasser and Mark healthy, along with bringing in a great recruiting class. I would have them #1 right now.

yep - i suspect the fans will give Kevin a bit of grief,
esp. since he's from Lubbock -

Seems to me it is almost like family incest when they move within the conference.

What was the old Jeff Foxworthy line? You might be a rednect if you go to a family reunion looking for a date. Or you might be a redneck if your family tree doesn't branch!

Deacs will be a top 25 team

Forbes on the hot seat for having 2 NBA guys and not making the tournament.
yeah, that was in no way, shape or form Forbes' fault. when the league you play in is perceived to be dogshit, you aren't going to have many opportunities to impress. Wake's win over the eventual national runner-up wasn't considered a good win. meanwhile, dog shit teams like Rutgers and multiple mediocre mid-majors got at-large bids.

I was just messin. He's done a good job. They are headed in a great direction. I think there is a good chance they land that 5-star for 2023. I think they'll sneak in the tournament next year.

he's done a great job, tbh. he has been greatly aided by the transfer portal. would be nice if someone like Hildreth or Marsh could make a decent jump next year.

Nebraska will make the NIT tournament and win a game!

Fun fact.

Tyrese Martin of Uconn, who I was surprised got drafted as he wasn't even a star at UConn, kept the Big East from putting up a goose egg in the draft.

If they had, it would have been the first time in the conference's history.
