Never too soon to start trashing opponents in your bowl game.

I think the Tide might be in for a surprise.

I guess I'll head to the college basketball board to try and find some UNC fans to talk game with

Come on over future conference pal. The waters been fine!

I think it's hilarious that after finishing 8th in the conference OU got the 4th best bowl pick. LoL at Baylor getting the Armed Forces bowl in fort worth.

7th.
OU's got the head-to-head over Kansas.

I get your point tho. Name recognition/Brand got that one for y'all.

It's a goofy Bowl pairing every year. Iowa State played up twice vs. Notre Dame in 2019 and vs. Clemson in 2021. I'm sure that had NOTHING to do with name recognition. Oh wait, it had to do with having the future starting QB for the San Francisco 49ers leading the way! / sarcasm

Iowa vs Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.

Last year, Iowa was 10-3 going in and Kentucky was 9-3. Iowa was #15 (AP) going in and UK was #22. UK won 20-17; in the Citrus Bowl.

This year, both are 7-5 unranked.

Couldn't that happen in any game? Look at Hooker, Tua, etc. Saban should have had Tua out with that much of a lead. Was it career ending? Nope. But that could happen in game one of the season. Career ending injuries aren't just set aside for bowl games. What if the player played in the CFP and got hurt on the first drive. Would he still lose millions?

Ftr, I believe that a scholarship should be treated like the contract it is and that if a team has a game and a player isn't already out due to injury...he should play.

I think it comes down to the potential for getting hurt in what is essentially a meaningless game. Even if an injury isn't career ending, it can still cost a player hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars because they drop in the draft...that's money they never get back, even if they recover and become a great player.

While getting hurt in the cfp could have the same effect as getting hurt in the Gasparilla Bowl, the cfp is considered to be meaningful, while the Gasparilla Bowl is seen as an exhibition.
