March Madnes 2022 NCAA Men’s Tournament

Houston can’t make shit. Ugly shooting. Need to stop chucking up 3s

Did they make some rule change where every shot has to come from three point territory?
had Wake season tickets this year

the volume of threes that teams take feels (i have no data to back this up) like it has definitely increased over the past few years. definitely have to think that the Warriors have influenced every level of basketball through style of play.

it sucks, tbh.

I agree. There doesn’t seem to be much strategy outside of kick it out and try a three. Not seeing teams set up their offense and work to get a good shot.

For sure. If you are watch the young kids playing It’s all about shooting 3s and not the fundamentals

As far as Houston, we're lagging off them a little letting them shoot.

As far as Villanova, that's been their game all year.

I'm very impressed with Villanova so far. Obviously hasn't been their best half offensively but Houston's defense has a lot to do with that. However, Houston excels at getting second chance opportunities from the offensive glass and turning you over. Villanova has taken that part of the game away from Houston and Houston looks lost so far.

That is Villanova basketball for the last decade. Wins titles.

Lot of 3s.

Lot of ball fakes.

Mismatches in the paint to back down the oppenent and execute the ball fake.

The amount of 3 pointers being taken have definitely gone up over the last 20 years. That's true at the pro and college level.

Really good half for Nova.

Couldnt shoot for shit but had Houston playing their style.

Had them biting on the fakes for free points(Nova is elite at the line), didnt turn it over and for the most part they rebounded on the D end excellently.

I think theyre gonna press in the 2nd half.

But that's going to open up shots for Gillespie and Moore, or create TOs.

We'll see how it goes.

Coach K interviews have been cringe this year

this is the first year in which he moves and talks his age tbh

You gotta expect Houston to score more, but on the bright side, you expect at least Gillespie or Moore start get it going a little.

I don't think this Nova team can win with defense alone. Need one of those guys to score some

Sampson will definitely have to try something to get some easier or more looks. Like you said, they might look to press, they might send even more people to the offensive glass. Either way, you make yourselves more vulnerable on the defensive end.

Because they're not always a good shooting team he probably won't just sit around and hope they make more shots in the 2nd half.

Gillespie took 1 shot. There will be more from him this half.

Looks like Houston is sending more bodies to the offensive glass. Very high quality game going on right now despite the shooting %s

Cant figure out how they are.

We have like 3 guys in there to their 1

Yeah, after the first couple of minutes, Villanova has done a much better job keeping them off the glass. You can tell it was something that Wright stressed with the team.

Well that was dumb, that shot wasnt going in
