2022 Official Transfer Portal Thread

Cool.

I'm just saying 6'2" is not "tall". It's within the bell curve (i.e. average) of wide rcvrs which is 71" - 75".

At 6'4" I'm out of the bell curve and cannot buy pants (36" inseam) at the typical department store (Walmart, Target, etc). They stop at 34" inseam which would be 6'2".

I've found 36" inseam at the target near me. Problem is they are almost paired with 38+ waist

Must have paid more than the others, huh?
You didn't have to pay anything for Andrel Anthony. The guy has stone hands and zero ball skills on any ball thrown downfield.

Michigan doesn't have a WR that will see the field in the NFL unless it is on special teams and he rarely got on the field. His claim to fame is one game against MSU where he had a 95 yard catch where 80 yards of it was running.

I'd be shocked if he gets on the field for OU and plays any type of prominent role.

Noles are quietly putting together a very very good team for 2023

@WhosYourDawggy You hear anything more about AD Mitchell possibly portaling out of UGA? Texas boards seemed convinced he's leaving and coming here..

Saw this

Looks like this is going to happen. Not sure why … two of the best game winning catches and you leave and won’t be welcomed back. We have a great WR room, but hate to lose him. Fuck him if he goes, love him if he stays.

At UGA WRs are always 3rd option.. behind TE1 and TE2

EDIT:... SC is also in this :(

That’s weird unless it’s NIL. Rumor was he has a son in Texas. Best shot at a title is UGA. Burton made a business decision, or so he thought.

UT needs WR in the worst ways.. they have a really good class coming in, but they value experience more.. Neyor coming off an ACL and Whittington who finally had a complete season are seasoned but are hit or miss with their injury history.

If AD does portal out, he should be an instant contributor on UT

He’s a really good receiver, and if he has a kid in Texas, I wouldn’t blame him at all for leaving. He’ll still be a UGA legend for life if he does. I thought adding two receivers from the portal seemed a bit weird with AD, McConkey, Smith and others coming back, so I think it’s likely he goes and had already let the coaches know

IT reported that he has a child in the Dallas area

Nah, now that USC has entered the fray, it seems to be an NIL play. Even rumors his baby momma and baby live in Tennessee. Evidently, we told him what he would get, and he used that as leverage with other programs. Fuck him. As a fan of CFB, I am glad he is able to get money - I am for labor getting paid. As a Dawg fan, he's dead to me the minute he leaves. I won't wish him ill, but I will never pull for him again. Other Dawgs may disagree, but when they have natty reunions, I guess he won't get the ovation he thinks he deserves.

Before anyone @'s me, of course, I am being petty. My right. And of course, we took two WRs from MSU and Mizzou. I would expect their fans to have the same, exact feelings.

As to the "UT is tampering" whining you are seeing with some Dawgs fans, screw that ... we are just as involved in the transfer portal shenanigans as any other team. I guarantee you that what we did will pass scrutiny, but I am also sure we've fielded calls from players not in the portal through intermediaries. So, no, UT is not doing anything everyone else is doing.

One of the NIL guys on surly.. said this has been in the works for a long time.. It was just a matter if UGA would offer him a better deal to stay.. and if AD actually went through with submitting his name for the portal.

He said originally the point of submitting your name through the portal was so other schools could BEGIN contacting you.. however if you are someone sought out.. the communication through backdoor channels happens much sooner.. Addison, Caleb for example took visits just to make it look like a legit process but they had already agreed to head to SC

Yep, the backdoor channel/high school coach aspect of recruiting has been going on for decades. I have no problem with that. I actually support players for getting paid, just think that AD is making a big mistake. He had a chance to be a lifetime hero for UGA. That will be gone if he leaves. Hope he does better at UT than Burton or Addison did at Bama and USC. The grass isn't always greener.
