Heck of a close by a new staff... compare last season's recruiting ranking with this year... big difference. Some of that is due to quality, some to quantity. Here's how it played out:

247Sports Composite: 24th (4 [four-stars] 24 [three-stars]) 5th in B1G

247Sports:
25th (2 [four-stars] 26 [three-stars]) 5th in B1G

Rivals:
25th (5 [four-stars] 22 [three-stars] 1 [two-star]) 4th in B1G

ESPN:
25th (5 [four-stars] 23 [three-stars]) 4th in B1G

On3:
26th (5 [four-stars] 23 [three-stars]) 5th in B1G

I dabble in my own ratings from time to time and I'll share my prognostications on the current signees... 98-100 is 5-star, 90-97 is 4-star, 80-89 is 3-star and anything under is 2-star.

1. Malachi Coleman (98)
2. Princewill Umanmielen (92)
3. Riley Van Poppel (90)
4. Demitrius Bell (90)
5. Ismael Smith-Flores (90)
6. Eric Fields (90)
7. Ethan Nation (90)
8. Gunnar Gottula (90)
9. Cameron Lenhardt (90)
10. Jaidyn Doss (89)
11. Vincent Carroll-Jackson (88)
12. Kai Wallin (88)
13. Jaylen Lloyd (88)
14. Maverick Noonan (88)
15. Rahmir Stewart (88)
16. Sam Sledge (88)
17. D'Andre Barnes (87)
18. Dylan Rogers (87)
19. Dwight Bootle II (87)
20. Brice Turner (86)
21. Brock Knutson (86)
22. Mason Goldman (86)
23. Syncere Safeeullah (86)
24. Jeremiah Charles (84)
25. Jason Maciejczak (83)
26. Kwinten Ives (82)
27. Sua Lefotu (81)
28. Tristan Alvano (80)

Besides specialists I grade out on who I think is most likely to help earliest. This is not to say any of the lower rated guys are bad, just further away from helping IMO.

Transfers
1. Arik Gilbert (99)
2. Jeff Sims (91)
3. MJ Sherman (91)
4. Ben Scott (90)
5. Zavier Betts (90)

9. Elijah Jeudy (89)
10. Corey Collier (89)

Figured now would be as good a time as any to start the 2023 recruiting thread... lots of names to know off the bat. Commit list is in the OP... they will be put into bold when they officially sign. Each prospect is hyperlinked to one of the four main recruiting sites. Will update throughout the year.

Here's some names to know going into 2023:
Malachi Coleman (WR) - Lincoln, NE (the best player in the state and sure fire 4-star prospect)
Maverick Noonan (OLB/DE) - Omaha, NE
JJ Cole (QB) - Ankeny, IA
Chandavian Bailey (OLB) - Platte City, MO
Charles Jagusah (OT) - Rock Island, IL
Braeden Marshall (CB) - Lake Mary, FL
Alex Mota (WR) - Marion, IA
Ben Ngoyi (WR) - Lincoln, NE
Denzel Moore(OLB) - Lawrencevill, GA

there's many more from there... Huskers hosting junior days on the 22nd and 29th of January. New names ought to pop up then

Big Junior Days coming up in the coming weekends... let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to field them as they come in about specific prospects. A TON of offers going out from the new staff the last couple days so the list continues to grow.

Still a working list since it has to be unofficial visits but here's who I came up with so far for the 22nd... could be wrong as it is fluid... Trying to flesh some things out, players in bold have reported a Husker offer.

2023 Prospects
Malachi Coleman 4-Star ATH (Lincoln, NE)
Dae'vonn Hall 4-Star WR (Bellevue, NE)

William Watson (3-Star QB) was offered a scholarship today at Junior day. Nebraska has about 5 scholarship offers out to QBs in the 2023 class in the past week and half.

Junior Day again this Saturday... Gonna guess some recruits catch the Basketball game during the event as well. Nebraska has another Junior Day scheduled for March 5th as well. As far as I can tell... these are the guys visiting this weekend (as always, visit list will be updated). Players that have been offered scholarships are in bold.

JJ Kohl (3-Star, QB) [Ankeny, IA]
Joe Otting (3-Star, OL) [Topeka, KS]
Jamison Patton (3-Star, ATH) [Des Moines, IA]
Dontavius Braswell (NYR, RB) [Sandersville, GA]
Christian Jones (NYR, LB) [Omaha, NE] (2025)
Dae'vonn Hall (4-Star, WR) [Bellevue, NE] (2024)
Caleb Benning (NYR, DB) [Omaha, NE] (2024)
Mario Buford (NYR, DB) [DeSoto, TX] (2024)

Quinton Joyner (4-Star, RB) [Manor, TX]
Martin Owusu (NYR, DL) [Prior Lake, MN]
Jaquize Buycks (NYR, DL) [Millbrook, AL]
JT Fayard (NYR, QB) [Richmond, TX]
DJ Chester (NYR, OL) [Conyers, GA]
Kooper Ebel (NYR, LB) [Hartley, IA]
Beau Knoblock (NYR, OL) [Winterset, IA]
Kade McIntyre (NYR, WR) [Fremont, NE]
Brock Murtaugh (NYR, ATH) [Omaha, NE]
Nate White (NYR, RB) [Milwaukee, WI]

Updated visit list for Saturday's junior day, let me know if I missed anyone!

Some buzz coming out of Junior Day, but not enough to guarantee a commit. We'll see what happens. Coaches will be out on the road soon, and spring practice starts in a month.

Well... I was wrong... Didn't think Dwight Bootle (DiCaprio's brother) would commit so fast. I thought he'd angle for a Wisconsin offer. BUT

Good get, kid is better than his brother at this age.

Obviously if there is a change at the end of the year, this gets blown to hell
And that it is so early these rankings are pretty meaningless. Most teams have less than 5 commitments at this point
