Uck we lost Kaiyn Lee to Auburn though. At least it was him though and not Hunt or Matthews, those woulda been more hurting

Ohio State's 2023 recruiting class has suffered another blow as four-star cornerback Kayin Lee announced that he's decommitting from the Buckeyes.

Gonna have to get a DB or 2 in the portal just for depth purposes.

Couldn't care less about Lee. That program is a dumpster fire. If he's OK with that just for some upfront money, good riddance. Hunt or Matthews would've been FAR worse. Not sure what's up with Bonsu, but either way we're gonna definitely be getting 2-3 DBs in the portal.

We coulda used him for depth purposes, but yea, he stings the least when it comes to recruits who possibly coulda flipped today.

Theres rumblings of Bonsu getting a last minute bag from Miami and flipping there. Another one that really doesn't hurt too bad besides in the depth department, he needed some development before making any big contribution, but jeez our secondary is just gutted lol.

Safeties: Kourt Williams, Ransom, Sonny Styles, Kye Stokes, and now Malik Hartford, Cedric Hawkins, possibly Bonsu, and however else from the portal. Cam Martinez is also back but I could see him leave.
CB: JK Johnson, Brown, Hancock, Burke, Turner, plus Matthews and Hunt + portal.

I think we'll be fine.

Bowen to Oregon. Ouch. Looks like a 24 man class for ND, lost our 2 biggest commitments though.

LOL I'm LOVING the ou tears... from Hicks to Vasek to Bowen and soon to be Akana..

BTW.. I'm hearing Hicks is really in the mix to flipping Friday to Oregon...

Don't tell that to the meltdown sector of our fans though. They are currently acting like we are slipping to like a Maryland level, even though if you go by average player ranking, our class is top 5.

They also think there is going to be a sudden MASS EXODUS of contributors to the transfer portal after the playoffs, even though there is zero actual evidence to support this.

Bowen was a ND commit for months and months, but he wore ou gloves throughout his season and his gf is going there.. they mentioned him as if he was already in their class... and wasn't even in his top 2 at his ceremony today

Akana is a DE/OLB from Hawaii and he was the supposed Vasek replacement.. an UPGRADE if you will... He too has had most CBs/Forecasts/RPMs to ou, until recently.. looks like UT is the favorite now (he announces in a couple hours).

You're not wrong, but I'm willing to give most of them a chance in year 2 under Knowles. They went from playing a completely different style of defense to playing his. If it works, great. If not, next year is probably not a title year regardless so we'll see what happens. I do think he's gonna be active in the portal though, and that hasn't even come close to starting just yet.

It was widely known he was going elsewhere in ND circles and if they kept him it would have been a coup, but it’s kind of a dick move to do the stupid hat dance while you have a verbal commitment to a school. Nut up and decommit if you want to put on that silly display. Hanging on to a commitment just to extract a bigger payday is one thing (sucks but that’s the way the game is played) but playing a school along is ridiculous.
