Neuer big mistake 2nd UCL game in a row. Today and last year year versus Real Madrid. Yikes. Tuchel ball returned today too. First Bayern loss not in knockout stage since 2017. 41 games in row ends. Bayern played all the softies first. Now 2 games against real competition and nothing has changed since last year.
 
Don't feel so bad now. Unai Emery last person to beat Bayern in Group Stage. Lille beat and shut out Real Madrid. Ok an Unai Emery team in Europe not easy to beat. Last year made semi finals of conference league. But losing to Lille? La Liga took a beat down today. Atleti lose 4-0 to Benfica?? Barcelona next for Bayern. Each has a loss. Hansi Flick or Vincent Kompany already going to be on hot seat. At least Bayern won't have to face Ter Stegen.

Back to back weeks Bayern has had trouble with low block defense with 5 at the back. Yeah the yeah the possession but that was ok with Emery and Alonso. They see the high line Bayern playing with Upa and Kim one on one. Upa had all he could handle with Watkins and was a red car machine in waiting. Kompany needs to figure this out because waiting in the wings is Frankurt undefeated and another superior counter attacking team.

Doesn't hurt that they have Emi Martinez in goal too. Saved a couple point blank shots. How did Ipswich Town score two on them last week? Bayern biggest problem still the wingers. Somehow someway they need to move on from Coman (especially), Gnabry, Sane. Harry Kane not getting much service, and these three why Lewandowski got frustrated and moved on too. Of course, Muller didn't play a minute. Lesson learned. I think Tuchel did the same against Man City last year.
 
I know it's only two games in, but I'm not sure I've seen anyone that I'd label a clear cut favorite yet. Yeah BvB has won and had a good goal diff, but they played Brugge and Celtic.

Adeyemi got hurt the UCL game. Didn't get called up to Germany because of that injury. Nor sure how serious.
 
Since no Europa league thread, we can post for that too. Spurs get a close road win. Man U losing with about 9 minutes to go. Ten Hag death watch looking bleak. I heard they will cut life support at International Break.

Shoe box head ties it at the death. Still not good enough. Two ties.

Fernandes did the Upamecano double. Red card in EPL and Europa League in same week. Upamecano did that last year in Bundesliga and UCL in same week.

Adeyemi injury more serious than they thought. Reyna also a setback today with his groin injury. He has played a total of 10 minutes this year. Early retirement at some point?
 
Bayern vs Barcelona at Barcelona tomorrow. Flick has Barcelona humming so far. I think over 3 goals per game. One of these teams will have 2 losses tomorrow unless this ends in a tie. Anyways, today's games that fraud Dortmund got routed by Real Madrid but what a wonderful win for Stuttgart at Juventus!!! Beautiful!!!

Wild how poorly his stint at Arsenal went. Guy has had nothing but success everywhere else.

He was fine at Arsenal, his win % is about the same as it is at Villa and actually higher than when it was at Sevilla, he just wasn't given the resources and time that Arteta has gotten. He was there about 1 1/3 seasons and was unlucky to be there when Pep/Man City and Klopp/Liverpool were like buzzsaws. He too Arsenal to the Europa final, just had a bad game against Chelsea.
 
Vincent Kompany an absolute fraud as a coach. Bayern getting torn apart by Hansi Flick's Barcelona. Bayern back to back losses in group stage. Before Kompany no loss since 2017. He plays the high line like Flick, but his defense and midfield too slow and too stupid too. Flick had legends like Alaba, Boateng, Javi, etc. This stretch of tough games now over. 1 win, 2 losses, 2 ties. Why fire Tuchel to bring in a Burnley reject? Bayern management awful too. The next Schalke we are becoming if status quo here.

Most of us....ok all of us over at SB Nation Bayern board want to sack Eberl and Kompany already. Have you been over there? Great place during game days. Some times a 1000 posts for the big games. My Lord that high line Kompany plays is brutal especially when midfielders aren't pressing. Amazing to see the 17 year olds at Barca running all over Bayern experienced (supposedly) players. You do know Bayern management this offseason turned down Flick re-hire for Burnley sloppy seconds. Good God...and I am not even religious.
