Only a douchebag would agree to leave A&M before the regionals even started to chase the money.
And a douchebag is known to be a douchebag by his players and despite a hard push by Schloss to bring his kids with him they all told him to go fuck himself. And every youth and high school player and coach has seen this and will remember it.
I was unaware of that. Pierce hadn't even been fired by then.
That being said, we shall see how this all works out for tejas and A&M going forward.
Schloss is certainly a proven good baseball coach everywhere he's been.
Just like Van Horn going from Texarkana, to Central Missouri St, to Northwestern St, to Nebraska, to Arkansas. The guy just wins.
The pile of failed assistants promoted to head coach in any major sport is deep. They're all a gamble.
Meh.
"A source told me" - Kendall Rogers (Klein, TX)
As I said..... We shall see going forward, but I'd never doubt the potential success of a college baseball blueblood like tejas with a proven good head coach.
@Red_Alert
There was all the reason you needed to not defend Schloss or Jexas. You didn't know something, and I provided you with the info, and you doubled down in your defense.
Let me offer you something additional from someone you do apparently respect: HawgBeat - Dave Van Horn reacts to Texas hiring Jim Schlossnagle

That means that everyone knew around the start of June that Pierce was shitcanned. There is zero reason to doubt Kendall Rogers' sources when even a coach you like and listen to is admitting everyone knew before the CWS.Either way, Schlossnage is now at Texas, a program that will join the SEC for the 2025 college baseball season. Also a bitter rival to Arkansas, the Longhorns will now likely be a regular opponent for the Razorbacks and head coach Dave Van Horn.
Naturally, Van Horn was asked about Schlossnagle's move during Van Horn's first offseason media availability Wednesday. Van Horn alluded to Schlossnagle's relationship with Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte as something that played a role in Schlossnagle taking the Longhorns' job.
"We knew three weeks ago that Texas was going to let their coach go," Van Horn said. "Turmoil inside of their program. If you look at the wins and losses, it’s been pretty good getting to Omaha, been pretty good. Just been other problems. I think somebody was there that wanted somebody else, and there you go.
