2024 NFL Head Coach Deadpool

Yeah I figured we would see someone get canned over the Belichick dream, but the Jets have to be the bottom of his list.
He would take the job and then deliberately sabotage every game until they bought him out.

I'm going to hate it, but Stefanski is gonna get canned this year the way things are going in The Land.

Really? I hadn't noticed
According to the nerds that compile their computer rankings, at least. I think playcalling was a big problem for them. Makes sense with Saleh's background, it was working for the defense at least.

Saleh’s heart was never in it. He (and all of his family) wanted to be the HC of his hometown Lions. When they passed he settled on the Jets job.

Maybe he can come to Detroit to be a defensive coach somewhere now.

I don't think so. I think Berry will get canned before Stefanski, but I could see them both staying. It's clear Watson is the weak link, and he obviously wasn't Stefanski's pick to be QB. He's made the playoffs twice this decade with two other QBs while winning 15 games in the two seasons he didn't make the playoffs, so he can win. If anything I could see him possibly choosing to move on for greener pastures if the Browns don't cut Watson this offseason.

Mark Davis won’t like Woody getting a head start on a new HC search and fire Antonio Pierce after Davante Adams is traded.

Getting rid of Baker so they could overpay Deshaun has worked out well.
Think that was more the GM's call than the HC's but yeah it obviously looks like a terrible decision in hindsight.

I thinks Stefanski is a very good HC and would hate to lose him. But that's kind of the way things happen in the NFL. When a team underperforms this bad, heads roll. I'd think both the GM and HC are in danger.

Well Cleveland is known for their ineptitude, but Stefanski is by far the best HC they've had since they came back in 1999, and he's also still very young. If we had a young stud QB like Stroud or even Purdy, then I'd be with you, but Watson was a horrible fit for Stefanski's scheme this whole time. Problem is, he was Haslem's Bo Callahan, and in real life our GM caved to the owner's wishes. If they fire Stefanski, I could honestly see another 0-17 season again before they make the playoffs.

Johnson has never fired a coach in mid-season before.

Unless they think there's a chance Belichik would come there (ha), this is just waiving the white flag harder. I mean, they're in a terrible division, they are playing Buffalo for the lead next Monday.
Interesting. I'd assumed Belichick was holding out for a non-shitty franchise. Or at least one that doesn't have a ego-driven moron as an owner.

Agree. I really hope they hang on to him. The Watson trade was really bad, but just as bad IMO was the shift in offensive strategy from a heavy ground game to a "QB friendly" spread to accommodate a shitty QB. At this point, I want to just see Famous Jameis back there and let Watson's 40 million guaranteed go to waste on the bench.

I thought that Hackett would be gone first, he's really the biggest problem there. I guess Rodgers wuvs him too much though.
Next in line should be gone is Dennis Allen. If the Saints think they are heading to the promiseland with and Derrick Carr they are delusional. Fun to watch Andy Reid and his injury riddled Chiefs toy with Allen. Never once in a minute did I think the Saints would win.

As far Saleh goes never developed Zack Wilson. Maybe Zack Wilson a coach killer. A lot of young qbs are that way these days. The offense was shit the whole time there. Didn't Saleh hire Hackett? After his shitshow job in Denve?. Maybe Jets will snatch up Kingsbury next year. Doing wonders with the Redskins offense.

Too fast and too many guys in motion, Rodgers won't tolerate that. He'll probably ask them to contact Paul Brown using a Ouija board

I thought the Saleh firing was a little harsh.

They should be 3-2, but Rodgers is still adjusting and the defense picks up steam towards the end of the season.

But we'll see. Can't hurt either.

I think Watson has one more week to get his shit together before he's done. If they're 1-5 the season is practically over so the best thing they can do is at least give the fans a reason to show up. I'd be shocked if they don't take a QB with their inevitable top-10 pick next April, and there's a way to reconfigure Watson's deal and cut him so the dead cap hit is less than what it's listed at now (still like $85m but it's better than $172m).

"unusual hostility" in walking a fired employee out the door? That's standard business procedure. You don't unexpectedly (to them) fire someone then let them do whatever they want on company premises. Every employee I've ever fired I've given them the opportunity to collect their personal belongings under my supervision before walking them out the door myself with a departing "thank you" and a handshake.

They want to think it's because Saleh wore a Lebanon flag on his hoody that he was fired, yet he's been wearing it for weeks now. He didn't get the job done, it's that simple. Besides, his buy out is $10 million. He will be just fine.

When Favre went to the Jets, he fucked them over for one injury-riddled mediocre season then bailed. Not to be outdone, Rodgers went to the Jets and fucked them over for at least two injury-riddled mediocre seasons.
