2024 Trade Deadline

Paredes and Morel don't seem that far off each other to me. Wonder what the prospects are.
Paredes had a 30 homer season last year and put up 2.4 bWAR so far this season while Morel has been worth negative bWAR. They’re pretty far off from each other IMO

Rays having a fire sad while being over .500 and in the wild card race rubs me the wrong way
I don't get it? Was this all just a ploy to get a new stadium and then cut payroll? A few things roll their way the Rays could have done some post season damage this year

They’re kind of known for late season surges too. Who knows, every trade the make seems to turn to gold, so maybe they know something we don’t, but right now it just looks like they’re punting a season prematurely

All part and parcel of the Rays. They do this every few years. They have a knack for taking seemingly bad or mediocre players and making them stars. There's kind of a running joke among baseball GMs, if the Rays call, don't answer, because in the long run, they'll get the better part of the deal.

Marlins should just own up to being a AAA club for the Yankees
Yankees getting another injury prone "star" from the Marlins. You'd think they would have learned after the Stanton trade.

Jazz is not only injury prone, but is basically a league average hitter when healthy. Anyone thinking he’s some kind of a difference maker is sorely mistaken

I wish Bob Nutting and Ben Cherington would trade being alive for not being alive.
