2024 World Series: NY Yankees vs LA Dodgers

Correct. I think I was focused on two of the power guys although Stanton did have a homer in game 1.

And a double in game 3, he was slugging .615 for the series going into game 4.

What's scary is the Dodgers can go FA shopping since Ohtani deferred his salary.
Not how the salary tax levels work, that goes off AAV. it isn't like the NFL where you can screw the future for flexibility today.

Edit: Ohtani's AAV for next year is just under $46m. Dodgers are sitting at an estimated $262M for tax purposes and that's with holes still to fill. The tax levels for 2025 are $241m, $261m, $281m, and $301m. So they are definitely going over the first, likely the second, and unless they get bargains or move big contracts out likely to hit the third level.

Rerun of World Series game 5 on MLB and FS1 channels now. I fell asleep in the 4th inning and missed the fifth last night so gotta see it.

The Yankees would have won the series IMO if Boone would have just pitched to Betts in Game 1.

Great series, very entertaining for it being 4-1

Congrats Dodgers

Looks like the entire city of LA has tuned out for the world champion Dodgers parade today.

Maybe. Tough to say.

Kind of a catch 22...do you pitch to the former MVP in a righty vs. lefty matchup? Or do you pitch to the other former MVP in a lefty vs. lefty matchup?

Conventional wisdom is to go lefty vs lefty.
