Welcome to Athens!

Atkinson has been all over the place. The fact he is going back to Texas, even though that seemed done, is basically how it's gone. For a while, UGA felt out of it. His "brand" is a big deal to him, and we typically don't put up with that nonsense. Perhaps they worked it through. He is really good, but we are loaded at ILB. He's a high end want, but not a must have.

Lee is coming on an OV. Would like to get him. OL and DL recruiting is going to be wild in the coming years. There aren't that many huge human beings and they are going to get money thrown at them a lot.
I saw a mod for y'all thinks Chace Calicutt goes your way.. but sounds like he's losing hope on Lee and James Johnson FWIW...

Still have no idea what Atkinson is going to do.. think he's just using lip service with the Texas trip this past weekend.. But tosu ppl think they are out now

If tOSU and Oregon are out, sounds like UGA v. TX.

Apparently USC gave Luke Wafle "Dylan Stewart Money" which is fucking insane. Wafle is a nice prospect but he's nowhere near the level Stewart was.
I had heard this same thing. Like $2m for each of his first two years. That's unreal. We weren't going to come close to that.

I'm sure we will be checking in, he has a great relationship with Laurinaitis and Patricia from all I've heard. If he's all about his brand, though, we're not likely to play in those waters.

For that kind of money as a EDGE type you better come in and produce near double figure sacks right away.
That's the thing, he wouldn't even be playing much as a freshman barring a rash of injuries. He's not a Chase Young/Nick Bosa level prospect.

Yea exactly. This kind of spending strategy I think has already proven not to work, these types of kids usually end up in the portal fairly quickly.

The more I have been reading and listening the more I am convinced that these numbers are nonsensical. QBs, DL, OL are going to get great money. But you better be top 100. But none are getting a million out of $15.5 million RevShare. It's just not happening. The money isn't there for unproven high school players.

I posted this before, but UGA last year and this year are really focusing on in-state dudes. I have a feeling we are going to see more and more of that with REvShare, NIL, transfer portal. Keeping kids close to home is going to be important. Luckily, Georgia is a killer state for high school football.
