GAME #3 Alabama @ #6 Tennessee - 3:30 EST CBS

Well, Saban at least sees part of the problem:

Saban said Young played "really well" but "we didn't get it done on defense when we had the chance."

Didn't get it done? Tennessee hung over half a century of points on that inept defense, coordinated by a half-wit. This is by far the worst defense I've ever seen in Alabama football since I started watching them in the 70s.

Maybe folks are right - time for Saban to retire. His decision-making in hires and maintaining inept subordinates is highly questionable.

This was the look I was questioning on the last Tenn catch. Rush 3. Pulled a DL to spy and the LB is sitting there watching the RB, who is blocking. Tenn needs 20 yards at least and 2 players are just standing at the LOS. Drop 8 or bring 5. Rushing 3 and having 2 players at the LOS does nothing when Tenn needs 20 yards

That is bad defense play calling. Oh well, it helped us win the game lol.

I want some time to clear my head and I don't want to flood the board with Tennessee stuff but this Heupel offense is getting into coaches/players head like no other offense. The last time someone did this in the SEC was Steve Spurrier in the 1990s. I see bad coaching and line up because teams start panicking with the pressure our offense is putting on them.

This is why (and I have trouble saying this being a Tennessee fan due to the fact that I am biased but I would be saying this about two neutral teams as well), I am not so sure Georgia is just going to walk over Tennessee. Tennessee doesn't look like a good matchup for Kirby and Georgia. Tennessee will score on Georgia and the pressure is going to be on Stetson Bennett to win that game. Not sure Bennett will hold up to the pass rush and just general pressure like Bryce Young did yesterday.

Now a team that could beat Tennessee that people are not paying attention to and maybe sleeping on is South Carolina. Spencer Rattler and the South Carolina offense could keep up with the Tennessee offense and the pressure will be 100% on Tennessee to win in Columbia. That might be the big trap game on our schedule. However, this team has a lot of mental toughness that I personally think was developed starting with that Pittsburgh game where everything went wrong for us but we were still able to pull out a win.

Kentucky is another tough game for Tennessee but I think the matchup favors Tennessee.

Last night was an excellent showcase of terrible defense for Bama.

If Tennessee loses an unexpected game it will likely be a shootout. Someone lights up their vulnerable secondary. I don’t know their schedule, so I am not sure they play an offense capable of lighting them up

This is why South Carolina scares me. Outside of Georgia, they are the best equipped to do that.

Bammers say, “Bama lost the game.”
Vols say, “The final score says Tennessee won the game.”

Cant both exist?

Wait, I will showcase how.
Bama drives the field, doesnt manage the clock properly. misses a crucial catch on third down and then misses a long field goal, leaving too much time on the clock. Then on the ensuing plays, they allow that mastermind defensive coordinator, who could not defend a sandwich from a rat, allows two players out of eleven to spy the running back and QB(effectively doing nothing, while the Tenn QB is hitting receivers like no one else is playing, getting close to 30 plus yards, and Tennessee hits the game winning field goal.

See, both can exist at the same time, because if Bama makes one play(the catch on third down) or extends the clock out by about 30 seconds, Tennessee doesnt have time to do anything and Bama likely wins on a shorter field goal. And this coming from someone who was critical of Bama and their defense, and shared many good posts with @Volbound1700 after the game. Yes Virginia, both can exist in the same space and time. Frankly, it was a great game and no matter if you will admit it or not, you were probably scared shitless Bama was gonna run the clock out and hit a field goal to win. That wasnt to be because we had dumb and dumber coordinating our offense and defense for us.

Is defending a sandwich from a rat supposed to be easy? I feel like it could be pretty difficult.

If you're the same size as the rat, no, or not any smarter than the rat. Apparently our DC is not much smarter based upon some things i have seen in the last couple of years.

Unless it's coming after my kids or a pet or something I'm getting out of a rats way. Screw that sandwich

I saw one in Cuba one time that me and a friend both avoided. Bastard must have been three feet long and a foot and a half tall. He had teeth that looked like fangs and a nasty disposition, since we were passing by a trash dump on a short cut to a bar. He looked open for business and we had no intentions of finding out.

In other news, Dillard High School just scored on Bama's secondary

... again.

I heard they threw a penalty on Bama in the Miss State game the other night because they wanted to get one in before Bama takes the field this Saturday.

No excuses. Two teams met on the gridiron. Tennessee won.

It's called analysis. For example, Bama beat UGA decisively in the SECCG last year, but was in-turn then beat decisively by the same team only weeks later.

Analysis helps thinking folks figure out why.

One of my work buddies used to work at a place that made chicken feed. He said there were rats so big there that they’d get one of those sticky traps on one foot and it wouldn’t even break their stride.
