Baylor has been better since 2010 than 98% of the teams you play, you child.View attachment 86428
I cannot agree with this Youtube Commenter any more!!! Tennessee's schedule year in and year out is relentless. We basically have to be a top ten team to even win 9 games most years while other shit heats like Baylor, NC State, etc. can win 10 games without playing a ranked team.
So, who should take their place in your opinion?Nothing to see here. #SECSECSEC

“We’re the SEC. We’re not overranked. Just look at our rankings.”
Slow your roll a bit with the year in year out stuff. Tennessee has a tough schedule for sure this year but let's not pretend the SEC East wasn't really down for quite a few years not too long ago. A quick Google search shows Tennessee has had multiple seasons recently (2015 and on) with a Sagarin SOS outside the top 25
The SEC East has not been particularly "loaded" though.
Georgia has been consistent but the rest have either been messes or wildly inconsistent
Tennessee gets a SOS boost with that annual crossover vs Bama.
We have also often had bad draws in our other SEC West opponents when they are usually up. 2018 and 2019 were exceptions and 2020 was just a mess and we were horrible, no excuse there as we got an Auburn and Arkansas team we could have beaten from West if we were halfway decent. 2020 schedule was unique and, to me, was a little easier on us.
The key is not just who we play though but when we get them. Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in a row. Also Florida is not a scrub program. They are like Penn State in your division, even when Penn State is down, they still have talent and they are still a tough out. We also get Florida early before they collapse and quit like they did last year or some of the seasons under Muschamp and McElwain.
I would challenge you to find a team that has as difficult a schedule as Tennessee does from the last week of September - October.
If those games were spread out, I would argue our schedule was not that hard.
2016 is a classic example of how it impacts the team. You beat Florida and Georgia and are on top of the East but then have to play a top 10 Texas A&M team on the road in a 5 OT loss and then get Alabama the next week and follow that up with South Carolina.
By the time we got to South Carolina, we had several starters out with injury and a QB that wasn't 100%. It happens. I know it sounds like excuses and the coaching has been more of a problem.
The issue is some teams can hide their bad seasons with softer schedules. Tennessee has flaws or is a 20-30 team, we are going to be hit with 3-4 losses. Even in the SEC, some teams get away with this like Kentucky who has Miss State as cross over and does not get Georgia until November in most seasons.
I think Mark Stoops is a really good coach and is at a perfect place for himself in Kentucky. But he bolstered his record with mostly garbage OOC. The minute Louisville stopped being what they had been under Petrino, Strong, and Petrino for a little again that gave an easy 4 wins for Kentucky. Add in a Vandy team that has had only 1 winning season since Stoops has been at Kentucky (2013 his first season) and that’s basically a gimme 5 wins. Again I think he is a very good coach, but Kentucky has been feasting on shitty OOC schedules for years to bolster his record. The issue is some teams can hide their bad seasons with softer schedules. Yeah. B12 doesn’t get to do conference rematches in the bcs and CFP games, or fmget to jump more deserving teams for those spots.I know what you mean...I don't know why people don't have more respect for the Big 12, with all those B12 CFP appearances and wins...
The only way any SEC team has gotten a rematch in the CFP is by one of them beating a shitty B12 team...if 2011 Oklahoma State had made it, that LSU team would likely be talked about as one of the best of all time.Yeah.
