Stop by more this year there are still 6 possible wins. Although that might stop the firing, so its a dilemma. Idk what to hope for.The high school I work at here in Tampa gets some free comp tix. I may bug the football coach to tag along.
DJ had a couple moments, but it was mostly GTs defense wearing down and their offense/coaching being incompetent. So I didn't watch to the end. Did Clemson's offense actually start playing better or did GTs defense just get worn down?
Have to agree. The Clemson D line was overwhelming and it caused us too many 3 and out, lucky to get a first down outside of one or two actual drives.DJ had a couple moments, but it was mostly GTs defense wearing down and their offense/coaching being incompetent.
Definitely a different type of energy when #2 steps onto the field.
Walking out the stadium had a similar feel to when Clemson played GT in 2018 where KB started but TL came in and took the job.
Also shout out to DJ for being Cade's #1 fan on the sidelines during the drive
6 wins is possible. So is 7 but that’s the ceiling this year. Our QB could be a game breaker if coach has the ability to surround him with complimentary players.Collins is the worst P5 coach. This is year 4 and not a bit of progress. This should be his team with very few Paul Johnson players left over.
Me too. Dabo had said he was going to get some time with the starters, but I guess that went out the window when he saw DJ sucking hind tit and didn’t want to “undermine his confidence.”Maybe, but let’s be honest - when he came out, the GT D was already gassed and done. I’d like to see how he does against a fresh D with a better matchup up front.
The transition phase should be nearly over. There needs to be more progress than this. I used to look forward to Clean, Old Fashioned Hate, but now it’s just another cupcake. GA Tech at least being respectable helps UGA. Them being terrible benefits nobody.6 wins is possible. So is 7 but that’s the ceiling this year. But the O line isn’t on the same world with the Clemson D line. It wasn’t going to be a good night no matter what.
but yeah. Collins has turned out to be a really bad decision, but what to do? Nobody else wanted the job anyway For the massive transition we were headed into.
I honestly thought it was a good hire, but he turned out to be a snake oil salesman. This is his put up or shut up year, and I honestly believe he has to win 8 to save his and the AD jobs. The transition phase should be nearly over. There needs to be more progress than this. If there’s no bowl for GT this year, they need to move on. They’d have more options to choose from now anyways
It hasn’t been that long ago when GT was competing for ACC titles and was able to get guys like Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Thashard Choice, Morgan Burnette, etc to play there.I honestly thought it was a good hire, but he turned out to be a snake oil salesman. GT is in the most talent rich state of the country. But their problem is their academics and the toads on the Hill that run the school don’t give a damn about athletics at all. It’s a side show to the, they are totally focused on research and academics. I get it, I really do. But I am also a CFB fan that wants my team to do well. Regardless of what some in the board say, it is feasible for GT to get enough talent at one time to make a run at a 12 team playoff and do ok. And at least make a good game against Georgia.
But Collins isn’t the one to do it. Might as well crash and burn this season so we can get someone else in here. I see Chris Petersen announcing, perhaps he would like to coach again?
If what you say about the toads on the hill is accurate and known in the coaching world, Petersen would never coach there.I see Chris Petersen announcing, perhaps he would like to coach again?

Agree on both, is it just me or does GT have a “Vanderbilt” feel to them these days meaning from the AD/administration as far as not being all in on football? It hasn’t been that long ago when GT was competing for ACC titles and was able to get guys like Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Thashard Choice, Morgan Burnette, etc to play there.
There’s enough talent in the state for them to at least be competitive and make a bowl every year and compete for a spot in a 12 team playoff in some years

He's a guy who strives for excellence and if he doesn't have that support, he wouldn't do it.
It needs a good coach(Ross and O'Leary) GT can be a perennial 9 win team only because of where they are located and the rW talent surrounding them. Collins knows this and tried to use it but he went about it all wrong. He should have let his performance do the talking but instead he tried marketing. Failure.Agree on both, is it just me or does GT have a “Vanderbilt” feel to them these days meaning from the AD/administration as far as not being all in on football?
I remember those guys/teams too as well as the Bobby Ross years, good teams can happen there, maybe not championships again but good solid teams. Just feels as if the powers that be there are ok just collecting checks.
