Maybe if you need a 5-7 team to participate to have someone to play in your bowl game, you have too many bowl games.

Eh, no 5-7 team really "deserves" to be in a bowl game. I have no problem with them going by APR.

The extra practices would be nice, but end the season on a high note and start the offseason.
If the Buckeyes don't sneak in to the playoffs, yall can have our spot. I have very little desire to watch them play a scrimmage with a half squad on Jan 1

Yea as much as i'm against making the playoff and getting spanked by UGA.
The Rose Bowl against Washington or Utah might be worse though, it's a thankless game. If you win "you were supposed to" if you lose you just get laughed at. There's really not much benefit to it.
Would we go to the Rose or would that fall to Purdue?
Last year's Rose Bowl was incredibly entertaining. This year though, even more players will sit out and it's going to be a shell of a team (both talentwise and emotionally) out there. Decent chance they get steamrolled by anyone they play.

If Purdue won the B1G title game theyd go to the Rose Bowl.
We'd probably get bumped down to like the Cotton Bowl, which would be even worse because thats likely the game the "top" G5 team gets into. Imagine a gutted team losing to fucking Tulane in the Cotton Bowl, that would be just a huge kick in the crotch to end the season on top of the one we already took against Michigan.
Fuck. If its the Cotton, i'm going to be tempted to buy tickets since its in my back yard. Gotta stay strong and resist.
