I guess the one benefit from playing in some meaningless bowl game would be that we would hopefully get to see what McCord is about.

I hope CJ Stroud wouldn't feel compelled to play to "prove" something. You're proving nothing by beating some second rate team in a second rate bowl.

I think he's already announced he is sitting if it's a non-playoff game. No reason to risk injury.

actually i misread the post. i had seen something about New Mexico State also trying to get in a bowl at 5-6 because of a game that got canceled. i had the wrong aggies
 
I remember when anything more than 3 losses wouldn’t get you a bowl invite. Nobody wants to watch a sub .500 Rice team play in some no name bowl. There will be 5000 people in the stands, if that.

ESPN really wrecked this sport

Normally I don’t want to go if we didn’t earn it and sometimes even then I don’t think we deserve it. However I would like Caddy to get a shot at a bowl as he deserves it even if the team doesn’t.

Yeah hard to hate that guy. I try because he beat us, but if I hated everyone that beat A&M there would be no one left to like.

You’re obviously not a gambler. Let every team in a bowl game.
 
I think to be bowl eligible a team should have a winning season at the very least. If they have lost more games than they have won, then why are they being showcased in a bowl?

There are far too many bowls.

There was a big debate on a Cyclone Board about this. I was for the Cyclones going at (5-7) due to the APR, as I thought the reward for THAT (APR) was good. However, I really just wanted ISU to win 5 games which they did not. So, I am fine with the fact that I am not subjected to another game of "How is ISU going to unerperform while favored". If they would have just covered the spread each week, they would have a nice record (8-4) and be in a good Bowl Game instead of being (4-8) and going nowhere slowly!
