GAME #5 Tennessee at South Carolina 6:00 ESPN

Good game South Carolina. Our defense decided to not show up tonight.

That seems to be their MO against anyone who can throw the ball. And SC isn't a prolific passing team. Right now -- in just 2 quarters, Rattler has thrown for the 2nd most yards he has in any game this year, and he still had 2 more quarters to go. And he has only thrown for 8 tds all year, he has thrown for 4 in the 1st half.

This game is going to end up 60-57 or something crazy. Hope Tennessee pulls it out though
 
There is the break Tennessee is looking for -- Tipped ball and caught for a TD

Our 2023 class has a ton of secondary prospects in it. I think we know our weakness.
 
There is an ENORMOUS break for Tennessee- -- Cam Smith is the best player on SC. Projected top 10-15 pick in the NFL draft. Leaves game holding his hamstring.

He has been a stud so far but a break for us would be if they started losing players on offense.
 
Not having Cam Smith is going to open it up for Tennessee's WRs. They don't have an explosive play in the game yet. I can see Hyatt hitting on a deep ball or two if Smith out.

The sad thing is that if there is another loyal SEC fanbase that has been through hard times and deserves something positive, it is South Carolina.

The easier it is for you to score, the more chances for you defense to get a stop.

Our biggest mistake was deferring. We should have gotten ball and gone up 7-0. We gave them confidence when they drove down and scored on opening drive. (We also gave up a big play on a 3rd and later a 4th down on that drive).

I don't care about stats, we have one of the worse 3rd and long defenses in the land.
 
Tennessee is missing one of our best defenders, Jeremy Banks. That might be impacting the game as Banks and Byron Young are the two best defenders and Banks is a captain.

The problem is -- Rattler is 14-19 for 250 yards and 4 tds. And 2 or 3 of the incomplete passes were drops by the SC. I don't think deferring is a problem. It is the smart thing to do.
