GAME #6 Michigan (7-0) @ #8 Michigan State (7-0) - 12pm EST FOX

Problem is, you won a game this year against Nebraska because the opposing coach was going for TDs instead of taking a FG.
I said at some point in some thread that kicking these field goals was going to bite us at some point....when you're in a shoot-out type situation you have to be able to score fast and we can't.

This sums up my feelings appropriately

This was the highest rated game of the season so far. If I had to guess, I doubt anything tops it during the regular season.

Michigan State @ Ohio State might top it the second to last weekend of the year might surpass it.

Yeah that certainly could be the case.

I thought it was especially dumb kicking the last field goal before half... why not go for the TD?

The red zone offense has been an issue all year. We get into the end zone and then revert to run up the middle, run some other way (maybe even up the middle) and then a long 3rd down play that has low probability of working. Michigan ranks 4th in the country in field goal attempts, that's a bad stat to be in.

yep, this offense is moving the ball very well... they just can't finish drives. There's also not a ton of explosiveness to the offense. The offense kinda reminds me of the 2016 offense

I think they have way more offensive firepower than they did, and Cade actually played a really great game; making some really nice throws. The problem is still ultra conservative playcalls. MSU went to stop the run, they stopped the run and left the passing game wide open. But we kept wasting downs trying to get the run game going unnecessarily. So we were passing on 2nd and 9/3rd and 8 a lot of the time.

Michigan State has done a decent job all season of shutting down their opponents in the red zone, which is a good thing because opponents have been moving the ball at will between the 20s.

That's my biggest frustration with the offense. And it's not like they were very creative with the run plays. They kept getting stuffed by Slade (who is one hell of a DT). I totally agree about Cade, I thought he had a great game. He got screwed over by some pretty bad drops, but I thought he looked very accurate even under pressure. I really don't get the people pining for McCarthy over Cade after that game.
