It is unusual. I live in a rambler built in 1948 and have a boiler and radiators

so when they installed A/C, they put everything in attic instead of replacing heating system with a forced air system.

Seems like they could have put an air return grille in the ceiling somewhere so you wouldnt have to get in the attic. Where does the air go into the system? Just a blank grille somewhere? Sorry, its kind of my thing.

The entrance to my attic is also intake, so I have to take grate out and push air intake over.

It was done before I lived there, it works. Probably not worth redoing but I also want get up there as my bedroom vent gets poor airflow

probably just needs to be cleaned, i noticed when i took picture just now. When I get ladder out to climb into attic, I'll clean up frame at same time



it actually shows up more in picture than in person, plus I usually don't look at my ceiling

So instead of just cutting another hole, and installing a filter grille, they used the existing attic access point, and loosely have the intake duct resting in that opening?

Lazy fuckers. It would be worth it to me to fix, but not everybody. Wouldnt be that much work really.

The vent not getting the same air could be a number of things. If there doesnt seem to be anything obviously wrong with the duct, like being pinched or partially disconnected, you can often go to other vents and slightly close them 10 to 20%, which would force more air to master.

However, if either one of them (Keopka or Bryson) just said "whatever, let's get this going, I don't care) then the media wouldn't have anything to say and it would die down but you can tell both want this to go on...
