I truly have no idea what is true and what isn't. I have read so little on this, as I don't really care. I just saw a headline in MLive about wanting to stop them from suspending Harbaugh. And I think it was you who I got the info that the President can suspend Harbaugh 1 or 2 games. I have no idea what type of power he has?Neither Commissioner Petitti or the COPC can suspend Harbaugh. That language is not in the Big 10 Institutional Governance Standards.
Their only avenue would be to pressure Michigan to suspend him themselves. That would be via a reduction in revenue distribution of which the COPC would have every right to do as written. They'd need 70% of the COPC vote to enact said penalty.
A judge would highly likely grant the penalty regardless of Michigan's TRO since the Institutional Governance Standards explicitly state it can be done. Particularly since Michigan has "persistently failed to comply with the Conference Standards".
From there it's up to the NCAA to enact a show cause on Harbaugh, the vacating of wins, bowl bans, scholarship reductions, etc.
I just want to watch the football game this Saturday. I don't care who is coaching the team.
