Spoilers below but it also explains what is going on in the short film so you understand. Must be watched with audio.
A lot of general themes going on and obviously it throws you for a loop and keeps hitting you with the unexpected throughout. But the main gist is there is a Rocket League clan called Let Em Pray. After every goal they score it plays the song heard in the credits and they always say in chat Let em pray when they score a goal and We pray for you when they win a game. They use the power of prayer to win these games.
Jesus talks about this telling god of this great clan that honors him. But then they score a goal on themselves in a tournament and then bad shit starts happening. Christ is crucified as the clan starts going down big giving up bad goals in this single elimination tournament game and bad shit keeps happening along with it. But then with a minute left they score and instantly start to believe again and are confident and rolling again and comeback to win.
Then they come back big again in another tournament game and not only tie it with 3 seconds left but then win the game with no time left. With this Jesus is brought back to life and he further tells God of this clan and thanking God and then it gives the big reveal of the God that Jesus has been talking to. That god is surprised and says he didn't know he wasn't aware before we get to the final part where we see actual chat log screenshots of how people get upset in these Rocket League games when we say Let em pray with that song after every goal.
