ACC/B1G Challenge

Wasnt coach K saying back in like August that "we cannot go 2 years without a NCAA tournament"? lolol

Funny how that thought changes when your team ends up not being very good
He was trying to get the tourney to include all teams this year...hmmmm.

B1G absolutely destroying the ACC right now. Can't remember the challenge being this lopsided. Tonight might start to even things up with NW and Nebraska playing. Hopefully the Michigan and MSU games get played at some point. And the Wisconsin game as well, hopefully Wisconsin gets their ass kicked though.
ACC won 7-2 in 2003 and 2004, 8-3 in 2006 and 2007. 11-3 in 2017

Let's stop pretending that this is the first time this series has been dominated by one side

That makes sense with 2017 because the B1G was fucking awful that year(sent 4 teams to the tournament). And I knew the ACC won those early years and some were lopsided. Just didn't recall it being this lopsided one way or another.

2004 ACC is the best single season a college basketball conference has ever had

I would tend to agree with that. MD being 7-9 during the regular season and earning a 4 seed in the tournament is absolutely insane. 7 of their 19 wins were against top 25 RPI teams. I hate that it isn't a 9 team conference with MD anymore. Adding Miami, VT and BC was fine, but the expansion with Pitt/Cuse sucks.

The ACC had 77% of the conference rated in kenpom's top 26 that year. It was insane

Expansion sucks/sucked, but it was necessary for survival. Adding BC was a stupid decision, though. The Boston market hasn't made the ACC more attractive to TV networks. They should have added WVU over BC. After adding Louisville in 2013, the ACC can't pretend that it still cares about academics. A WVU add makes everyone happy, tbh. The problem I have with Cuse is they're too stereotypical northeast. Sure, we have BC, but BC doesn't have any fans and are just content with being in the conference. Syracuse has a vocal fan base + an asshole of a men's basketball coach. They want influence, but they're in the wrong conference for that.

Yeah, I guess I was more so looking at things with BC from the viewpoint of when they entered the league. They were a good program for about 4/5 years into it. Have been awful since though. Cuse and Pitt still don't feel like fits. Same with Louisville. Although Louisville seems more natural than the other 2. But I don't think it's a surprise both Cuse and Pitt have taken a big step back since joining.

Listen, nobody over the past two decades has been more successful in the B1G/ACC Challenge than Duke. But we have so many Freshman now that have to play, there just has to be a down year ahead. The Blue Devils lost Jones, Carrie, and Stanley, who carried the team last season. Hurt is back, Goldwire is back, Moore is back despite being a cross-eyed fuck. What? You didn't know Moore was cross-eyed? Maybe that would explain his terrible shooting percentage, etc.. What? You think I'm joking about Moore being a cross-eyed fuck? Well, here's proof:

Even in a down year, anything after Baylor and possibly Gonzaga is pretty flawed, so they're still in the race.

i was a teenager when BC joined, but one thing that stood out about BC is their lack of fan support. it's ridiculously awful. it's arguably the worst in all of the P5. Wake is a really small school, but Wake gets more fans to watch them play VMI than BC gets when they play an ACC opponent.

i'm not sad that the old big east schools have struggled, mostly b/c the fans of those schools claimed that they were going to take the ACC over. it hasn't exactly played out that way. Syracuse just seems like another team these days. Pitt has become a bottom feeder. Louisville has been decent, but hasn't really contended for the ACC title yet.

tldr version = BC, Syracuse and Pitt are horrible fits. Louisville is a meh fit, while VT and Miami have been picture perfect.

Maryland doing the B10 proud lol

If Clemson beats Maryland (lol doubtful) I will never let the rest of ACC forget about Clemson carrying the conference and going 2-0 against the Big.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Acc can lick my taint

MD fucking sucks balls in this challenge. I swear they just want the ACC to win it/do better based on their record in the ACC vs the B1G.

Nebrasketball is a 3 point dog against Ga Tech.

I like the Huskers to win this one.

With a win Nebraska would still have the best record among B1G teams in the history of the challenge. Crazy this is their 10th game in the challenge.
