I’m late to the game on this as I’ve just caught the highlight today.

Yep, there has to be a rule here. And that will be the way it has to go. No one is going backwards on the slide rule to promote safety.

This is patently unfair. Defense has had the shit kicked out of them at all levels for years now. They’ve been expected to relearn the way they leaned to play D. And they’ve been doing it pretty well.

This can’t be allowed. I’ll say it needs to be a dead ball at the spot where he started the fake. From there give them 1st down (if it’s been attained) and tack the 15 yards on (1st and 25). If the QB didn’t make the first down marker tack the 15 yards on with a loss of down.

Make it punitive as hell to hit home.
