Won't ever happen. Conference championship games are still objectively retarded.
Always have been.

A COVID conference championship game?Well they played one in 2020.
I like a setup that’s based on merit and not arbitrary rankings. That’s always been the issue with the college football system.ND isn't in a conference. Your model would have been Clemson/UGA/ASU/Oregon.
That list includes team ranked from 1-16 in the final CFP rankings and leaves out 3-11 and 13-15. That is absolutely an awful playoff set up.

G5. B12. Lesser conferences and leagues. We need to establish the P4 and kick all other teams to the curb.So what was your reason for saying teams didn't deserve byes this season? They got it based on merit (won their conference) but you seem to say they didnt deserve based off what?
I hate this. Then the playoff becomes like 1/3 of the season. The "best" system going forward is probably just going to 16 teams, no auto bids just whoever is 1-16 in the final CFP poll. I know that's still "arbitrary" but you are really getting everyone fitting and then some at that point. If some 4 loss team who finished #17 is crying they can GTFO.

I think moving forward there’s very little likeliness that the best team is coming out of the ACC or B12, which is also another uncomfy conversation that will likely be had.I'd say they need to eliminate OOC games basically, or go down to just 1 but I doubt that ever happens, the networks aren't missing out on those extra games.
They really need to start the whole regular season a week earlier, I like the title game being played on like Jan 12-14 a lot better than on Jan 20th.

Still played in it. So the claim of never is false.A COVID conference championship game?

I'd like them to create a B1G vs SEC the second week of the season as one of the OOC games every year. That would get huge ratings and you could start the weekend on Thursday because every game is going to get eyeballs.I'd say they need to eliminate OOC games basically, or go down to just 1 but I doubt that ever happens, the networks aren't missing out on those extra games.

Yormark wouldn’t do anything like that. He’s the type of guy that wants the ratings and would do something ridiculous like play the conference champ game on The USS Ford.ACC will do this then the Big 12 will sit their 1st and 2nd place teams and have the 3rd and 4th place team play some exhibition game instead.
That’s when the B1G and SEC start asking (or demanding) they get a certain amount of auto bids each. Especially if this eventually goes to 16. I’ve stated in another thread should 16 be the number, no byes and the B1G and SEC get 4 auto bids each while the B12/ACC each get 2, and the G5 get 1 leaving 3 at large bids (2 since ND likely gets one most years). Most years that means the SEC/B1G will likely have 5 bids a piece. I think that would suffice both of them for at least a little while.I think moving forward there’s very little likeliness that the best team is coming out of the ACC or B12, which is also another uncomfy conversation that will likely be had.
Okay. How about once instead of never? Or never during a normal season?Still played in it. So the claim of never is false.
Yes, the odds are low a team from either conference will win a natty going forward. Especially if they can't land multiple top 10 recruiting classes. The "uncomfy conversation" is whether teams from those conferences deserve a shot to win one. (Similar to March Madness. Most of those conferences don't have a realistic shot at winning it but the likes of St Peter's have had chances.) It seems both the B1G and SEC want to give them (and a G5 team) a shot. The B1G and SEC have enough of the control so they can change that belief in the future.I think moving forward there’s very little likeliness that the best team is coming out of the ACC or B12, which is also another uncomfy conversation that will likely be had.
