


The committee seemed to put less importance on SOS and deferred to wins/losses instead. That's the only reason SMU got in from what I can tell.I think it'll be a long way down the road before if ever the ACC and Big 12 are basically eliminated.
IMO we will see the Big 10 and SEC get far more favoritism from the CFP though. I doubt they are going to be willing to give a team like SMU the benefit of the doubt again after the showing that had this year. I think they threw them the bone this year to see how it would go, and they blew it.
While SMU stunk in that appearance. Especially early in the game, was it really much worse than the other first round games for Indiana, Tennessee or Clem? All at least double digit losses and they weren't as close as the scores indicated.

Notre Dame 27 Indiana 17
Those four were given a chance and got eliminated...as it should be.
