According to sources: Mario Cristobal to be the next HC at Miami

Today is a good day.
Not sure why I get fusky fans excitement for this. Mario was a great recruiter, built the program well and set a very good foundation, but Oregon can get a big time hire now. For all of Cristobal's strengths, he was a questionable in game coach and his time management was a huge question mark at times. He was a younger head coach that was still learning and had some learning to do.

Now he has left behind a ton of talent, has built big time recruiting pipelines and a great offensive minded coach can come in and take things to the next level.

Seeing names like Chip and Wilcox tossed out… real big time hires

You go from
Oregon's dynasty starts now

a few short months ago, to Cristobal was holding you back.

THAT is why this is a great day

Running the triple option in college, Frost knows damn well the importance of WR's blocking on the perimeter and downfield.

He can't seem to get his guys to do it effectively though.

1 yd here
2 yds there
Loss of 1 here
No gain there

etc.

Drives me fucking bananas.

Frost is not HC material, he needs a good leader to tell him what to do. i.e. His limit is as a position coach.

Didn't he go undefeated as a HC? Maybe he isn't a good Nebraska HC, but I think he could succeed again elsewhere.

Oh, and Riley has already started pulling back on that recruiting. Oregon is finished as a top tier program.

LOL

Wait until Oregon hires a big name. Oregon has already shown they are willing to pay top dollar and pay a head football coach like big time football programs. I will say this, any sitting Power 5 head coach could be the next Ducks coach. The University is ready to invest in a top tier coach and they are done with coaches coming here only to leave for a Florida school.

If anything, Cristobal doing this and reminded us all of the Taggart debacle, has awoken a sleeping giant at UofO with their decisions to hire a head coach

We've reached the "I never liked him anyway" stage of rejection
Incorrect. I liked Cristobal, he built the program well and set a very solid foundation for the program to move forward whether that be with him or without him. I think Cristobal would have won a national title here, he was certainly on the path to doing that. I just think at this stage of his coaching career he was still learning time management and the X's and O's a bit. Nothing a good coordinator couldn't help out with.

If there was any job that he'd leave Oregon for, it was Miami and we all knew this from the beginning.

Man, I'd assume O is now gonna be looking for somebody they think they can get a long term commitment out of. Chip Kelly *probably fits that, but I'm not convinced he's the force he was now that the rest of CFB has gone up-tempo. Brian Harsin, if they can snag him, probably would stay long term as long as he doesn't die of Covid. Then there's a younger guy like Brady but he'd probably jump at another program too.
