Sports Illustrated: Alabama wants teams that storm the field to forfeit the game:

As the SEC reviews ways to halt field and court storming, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne has come up with a proposal, according to a recent interview.

"I truly believe [in forfeiting wins] — if we said that the home team, if they storm the field or the court, they're going to lose that game right then and there, that will stop it." Alabama AD Greg Byrne told ESPN

I sure wish people would storm the field on my team...

Unless Alabama creams their pants over beating Vandy they won't have to worry

I like storming the fields and courts so long as it is safe. That's the only problem for me.

In that case, the only thing that makes sense is you forfeit your next home game against that team. Imagine Vandy storming the field when they beat Bama, so they play @ Bama the following 3 times. That would force the home team to have better security in place.

And, having typed that, I hate it. While my team won't do it in football:

Georgia

Date: Oct. 7, 2000
Result: 21-10 win against Tennessee
Reason: A pattern of rivalry games is starting to emerge here, and for good reason. Georgia had endured a decade of dominance by Tennessee, and it was sick of it. After losing nine straight and winning at home, it’s time to go Dawg wild.

We did so this year in basketball, and I liked it.

If your fans storm the field before the game actually ends (happened multiple times), then yes make it forfeit.

Only has to happen once before the dumbass fans change behavior

How would you feel about that if Oregon finally “won” a Natty and a bunch of overzealous fans make you forfeit it?

If the fans stormed the field before the game ended, then Oregon didnt win anything.

i hope Bama beats #1 Auburn at home this weekend.. and the fans to rush the court, causing Sankey forfeiting the win :)

Your fans are the idiots that tried to storm Jordan Hare and we pulled out the fire hoses on you.

We didn't try; we did it. Tore the fuck out of your field and hedges. I was there, but not on the field. You dipshits shot me with a water cannon in the stands, fuckers. I've hated Auburn ever since.

And, that was in 1986. As I pointed out in my post you responded to, the last time we did it was in 2000. Face it, winning teams don't do it. That's why we don't do it in football but do it in basketball, where we aren't a winning team.
