Alabama wants teams that storm the field to forfeit the game

We didn't try; we did it. Tore the fuck out of your field and hedges. I was there, but not on the field. You dipshits shot me with a water cannon in the stands, fuckers. I've hated Auburn ever since.

And, that was in 1986. As I pointed out in my post you responded to, the last time we did it was in 2000. Face it, winning teams don't do it. That's why we don't do it in football but do it in basketball, where we aren't a winning team.
The only problem with hosing down Georgia fans is that makes cleaning up the turds that much harder.

If you’ve never gotten to storm a field in victory before then I feel sorry for you because that shit is fun as hell.

You can dog it and make claims of being so successful that it’s beneath you but I wouldn’t trade anything for the trill of rushing the field in a massive victory. It’s just awesome and I would consider it a bucket list item.

Bad idea. Hard enough for regular security to control crowds of that size. Maybe fencing the playing area with those high security fences like in Washington DC for the Inauguration? Expense?

Only abject stupid losing teams that got really upset or really blown out would benefit from this gift rule.

Unless the winning team encourages the crowd, I think its a bad rule.

If teams were actually putting effort into preventing it, it wouldnt happen

This makes it a priority.

I've witnessed Ohio State attempt to keep fans off the field. Rubber bullets. Riot gas. It didn't work. How are you suggesting it? How do you keep 30-50k determined people from getting somewhere they want to be?

Live ammo.

I've seen Alabama hoops fans storm the court plenty of times over the years

Auburn degrees ... I swear, they are worthless. The first sentence of my post was:

I like storming the fields and courts so long as it is safe. That's the only problem for me.

I then went on to point out my thoughts on how they could discourage it if they had to, because that is what the post is about.

I pointed out my team won't do it in football because we are winners right now - you know, teams that are winning 96% (not that an Auburn fan would understand that) of their games don't storm the field. But did point out that we had in the past when we weren't as good, even giving the exact date the last time we did it.

In a subsequent post I pointed out that we have in MBB because we are losers in MBB.

Me thinks you are so upset about being 3-18 against us in the past couple decades that you couldn't think clearly here.

Oregon has a tradition of the fans storming the field...5 minutes after the final whistle so all the players/coaches can get off safely.

When you know that you can go on the field...eventually, it seems to have the intended effect.

You do know what the word storming means, right?

I know what it means for you. Universities have to change that perception.

It not just what it means to me, it's the definition of the phrase. It's not storming the beaches of Normandy of the Allied soldiers got to the beach and counted to 100 before continuing on and it's not storming the field if you wait five minutes.

If the school can convince the fans to do this, then good for them, but it can't be called storming the field at that point.

Think they might be better off putting a bunch of high rez cameras pointing at the field for the specific purpose of identifying people who storm the field. Non students will be subject to a hefty fine and at the minimum trespassing charges, students will be subject to the same thing as well as expulsion. That would make a lot of people think twice

I prefer the live ammo solution.

"Wahhh! The Hurry Up No Huddle. Wahh! The playoff committee. Wahhh! Fans storming the field! WAHHH!"

Damn, Bama, when exactly did ya'll become the biggest crybaby bitches in college sports?

I think that Clemson does that each home game as well.

Vanderbilt is trying to do this ... setting up a situation where you wait 1-2 minutes, five seems more likely to work, and then storm the field.
