Anecdote check in time

Ok. I don't understand health care protocol. It was determined that he now has viral pneumonia. Now a guy testing positive for COVID comes down with viral pneumonia seems like a candidate for hospitalization. But noooooo. Sent him home and says to come back in if he feels worse. :headscratch:
beds are kind of at a premium right now. If you are able to treat it at home, I would imagine they will send you home. If you are in need or a respirator or something, they will likely keep you there. Pneumonia can get knocked out with the right meds and rest, but it certainly will be rough going...esp with COVID on top of it.

guy I play tennis with had COVID w pneumonia and was sent home with it. His wife was kept in the hospital on a respirator, where she luckily survived. He is still feeling long COVID symptoms though

One thing really strange about it the I don't remember hearing before. His employer requested a 2nd test before he came back to work, but his doctor said it was not necessary. The doc said he would continue to test positive for 90 days. What????
So much information (and misinformation) out there I feel I get confused at times. But, I want to say I remember reading this last fall/winter…..that they were blowing through tests to clear covid positives back to work.

Its just a waste of tests.

I’m super happy to hear he has some improvement. He just needs to go easy for a while. We’ve all had a massive flu bug before, some have had things like pneumonia. You’re generally able to get moving again at a decent pace once it resolves.

COVID is proving to not be that way for those that have had it bad enough. Our family member who had it bad is 10 months post infection. Asked him the other day and he said most days feel normal now, but there are still days that pop up that it’s just hard to keep moving and pushing forward.
