Another HULU Price Increase

Nope

He has a wifi problem and needs a booster. The only issue with streaming is it’s about 5 minutes later than live so you’ll phone calls and don’t want to answer them because something happened.

He must have shitty internet speed or too many devices using it.

I watch more games broadcast over the air than I do streaming (ESPN (2), FS1, CBSSN, etc.

Judging by the tv ratings for CFB, so does the rest of America. It's actually a better picture and no delay compared to satellite or streaming.
Nah, I have gigabite internet in a major metro city, with a top-end nighthawk router and still have slight lag/stutter or drops in quality. Sports in 4k always runs perfect on DirecTV.

I've no problems with lag/stuttering on this mid-tier fiber and multiple devices connected. It's rural though. $70/month.

My Roku stick, laptop, and phone are connected to it right now. If my kiddos are out they'll be gaming, on Apple TV, and on their phones as well.

For me, college football is the only sport I follow, and I follow it like religion. I always subscribe to Sling and then they had no ESPN this season due to financial agreement or lack thereof. YouTubeTV has been great. I always canceled Sling after the national championship. Will do the same with YouTube TV at the end of the national title game this season. A friend of mine bought a high powered antenna that works well, and he lives out in the sticks. I know it will do great in the city where I live. Thinking about a streaming service next season just for November through national title game. Just not sure what the options are for that short of time. Any feedback appreciated.

DirectStream is better. Made the switch from Hulu last month. They offer regional sports apps (Balleys SW)

cheaper, too

You have Xfinity too?
I know the pain

Ditch HULU and get YouTube TV. I did, saving money and no problems. When I had HULU, I would get connection issues all the time. Frustating with sports.

I did not realize until just now that HULU added The Weather Channel on Nov 1st.
There goes another $5 per month jump in prices for Hulu - no?
Verizon is offering a set price per month for 10 years, I need to see the set up next door at my son-in-laws house before I jump off Cox. Cox had 2 separate full day internet interruptions this past month and that is unacceptable for underground cable.

The only issue I’ve ever had is if there is a really big game like Auburn vs Alabama and literally the entire neighborhood is streaming the same game I’ve learned to never turn off the TV or change the channel. If you do there can be issues getting it back up because I suspect we are maxing out the mainline capacity as a whole. If you are up and don’t mess with it then there isn’t an issue.

Now all of that could just be in my head but the system works so I don’t mess with it.

Game flipping can cause lags if everyone is streaming at the same time.

Not now.
That actually was the cause of the price increase when I started this thread. I just didn't realize The Weather Channel was now available.
This winter storm Elliott (or whatever they're calling it) put TWC up in ratings when I loaded HULU.

"The Weather Channel and Comedy.TV have been on the platform since November 1. On December 1, subscribers can stream channels such as Vevo Pop, Vevo Hip-Hop, Vevo Country, Vevo '80s, Vevo '90s, Vevo Holiday, TheGrio Television Network, JusticeCentral.TV and The Weather Channel en Español. Nov 14, 2022"

My internet is fiber and my nearest neighbor's about a mile away, so no issues like that. LOL

Wish I had fiber... Verizon did alot of FIOS 'fiber' in my area a bunch of years ago but never hooked it up. ONLY Providence area got it!

I don't really need more than the download speeds of 300+ Mbps, but I DO need the BIG UPLOAD speeds!!

When I bought this place last year there were 3 satellite dishes on the roof and one 'over the air' aerial antenna. No cable here at all.

My boy 16 (at the time) pointed up at the aerial antenna and asked "Dad, what's that for". LOL

The cable/fiber company got hold of me soon after and asked if I wanted service. As far as I know it's fiber from their servers all the way to my wi-fi router. I didn't sign up for their cable service. Just internet for streaming.

I also have $25 digital antennas next to each TV with over 20 channels available over the air.

My previous cable company (Cox) only had coax cable so there were buffering issues at times.

I don't see ever going back to satellite so I need to get those dishes and aerial down. Just leave the brackets up there until I need a new roof.

Verizon Fios is awesome man.. Miss it.. but they aren't coming to Texas anytime soon :(

I got me an Amazon Firestick just the other day....

Going to see how that works out.

It looks like I can get all my local stuff trough their own apps that are free.

Looking to get rid of my Comast Cable bill but still have Comcast Internet.

Will see...
