Another reason not to go to San Francisco

Cleveland in the late summer doesn’t even smell that foul.

It’s pretty stunning to see what a shit hole Cleveland is. Makes Detroit look like a tourist town.

I asked around for a great lunch spot. Everyone told me about this great place. Went there and it was one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. My burger came on toast. Horrible.

seems like the title should be "one fewer reason to go to SF"...not another reason not to go...

sounds like a lame way to call it quits

According to the San Francisco Business Times, the restaurant was shuttered in March 2020, and never reopened. During that time, it never paid rent on that space, or on its "support warehouse," and its owners have since decided to end its 66-year-lease with the Port of San Francisco a little over 14 years early. (Don't do the math in your head: Alioto's signed the lease in 1970.) It is also ending its lease on its warehouse.

I think when the list of reasons not to go is longer than the list of reasons to go, you stick with what OP used.

Looks like Alioto's is closed for good. Used to make a drive down from the foothills frequently Back in the day.
When you go to San Francisco be sure to wear flowers in your hair.

if you say so

there are still plenty of reasons I like going to San Fran...some family owned restaurant going under isn't going to deter me from going.

Probably were tired of it all and took the easiest excuse.

it's likely...the pandemic definitely took its toll on the service industry, especially restaurants.

I give a lot of credit to those who toughed it out.

But thing I can think of that would interest me about San Francisco would be a Braves-Giants game at whatever the hell they call the Giants ballpark these days.

But to be fair, the Braves were the only reason I ever wanted to go to Atlanta, and now that they’re in Cobb County, I have no business in Atlanta. Think I’ve been there twice since the move. A concert at the Fox and a concert at the Falcons stadium

Fuck that place and much of that family*.

*Not all of them are bad, but many of the ones involved in that restaurant were ... just ... the way they treated their employees, and even their customers (unbeknownst to said customers), they should have been shut down a long, long time ago.
